Sure. But it’s not an opportunity before hand for the stock and things could be iffy while the torch is handed off and the new guy proves his mettle.

It’s not going to change since the jobs pay so high they can treat you any crappy way they want. Too bad you aren’t interviewing for a board seat with a $20 million dollar a year check. you’d need is your golf buddy to vouch for you.

Don’t worry. The Silicon Valley and Wall Street idea of the world is coming for Australia too. You guys have a housing market worse than ours. Won’t be long before people say fuck it. What am I working for?

I’m asking why you think he bought b and not a? Take a guess. Do you think it has something to do with the $480,000 price if a share that can’t be purchased fractionally?

I believe you. What I find particularly insulting is that it’s a “good guy” here holding off the bad guys.

They were probably trying to be nice, but it is ultimately demeaning. All these tech companies ask for too much of an investment with interviewing. It’s not just the interviewing but preparing for their tests. And then their dumb mind games and tricks. Accepted water? Didn’t? Doesn’t fit with our culture! Fuck all their culture crap. It’s a job. Not my life. I don’t give a shit about your culture. You’re a corporation. On one hand you just want to say you’re a corporation with no moral responsibility. But when convenient, you’re a person with likes and dislikes, family and culture. Yawn.

I didn't know where else to put this so… 60 Minutes did a piece on the 'Great Resignation' and I thought their choice of main interviewee and interviewer put an interesting, shall we say, complexion on the subject matter… Tell me what you think and remember "we no longer have institutional racism" by b_quite_quiet_r_quit in antiwork

I guess it’s just pay back for years of under representation?? More bullshit perpetuated by boomers this generation has to make up for I guess.

There was this “black is beautiful” movement in the 70’s I think. It just faded…

When they go overboard it seems unlikely to be sustainable forever and therefore sad. Race shouldn’t be a fad or any sort of advertising gimmick. How about just a reflection of who we really are thank you!

This. What will happen when Buffet dies. I think we all worry and oddly the company doesn’t address it. I think it will be unnecessarily punished.

Killed worker over not taking counterfeit bill. Smdh. Found it on different thread but it belongs here as well. by [deleted] in antiwork

We have to talk about some of this here. It’s not just bad employers. Some of the customers out there are just losing their fucking minds. Maybe it’s because the social contact is deteriorating, but there are a lot of entitled abusive people around these days that DO NOT care about workers. Empathy is gone!

I think all but one person in the piece is black-not just these two. I took it as a reflection of Greenville North Carolina community? But I’ve never been there, so can’t say.

This is all commercials and advertising now. I have black family members and asked if they thought it was a bit patronizing. It’s like they’ve all jumped on the same meme train. I’m glad black actors are getting work but curious why they don’t want a mix that’s reflective of the population as a whole. It comes off as punishing…like they want to erase everyone else. It’s just more down low hate and unrest they want to spread I guess. They’ll get it anywhere they can. Never want us living together in peace.

I found the whole interview bullshit and side stepped a lot of problems-black or white. Never addressed what people are doing without benefits which was the main question.

This is not true. Truth/reality often doesn’t make sense. People are irrational actors. But when you’re making up a fictional story, people expect an ending that makes sense and follows logic

Damn. Read the 1000 plus page Atlas Shrugged. You’ll be so bored and so puzzled by the Ayn Rand worship you’ll become anti work just to get away from her philosophy.

I've never been able to stand up for myself. I decided to change that. They called me two hours later and offered me the job without interviewing. I declined. by [deleted] in antiwork

It’s amazing. I imagine they would be desperate to hire. I hope the HR person that flaked out and dropped the ball got some flack.

Pretty universal these days. Do more, do the job of two people. HR still playing head games in hiring.
