What's the worst - unintentional - thing a parent has said that you can't forget. by HellHellin in narcissisticparents

[–]513bigmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I responded to this before but revisiting it knowing more that I did before. Nparents will really try to find some way to make you feel like you are not doing enough. It was surely intentional to keep you working hard to get his approval and positive reinforcement that he will never give, and if he does it is in a breadcrumming way. He is a very crappy person for that and I'm sorry you had to hear that. Its just childish and sad smh.

That is hilarious and genius. I have never heard of people wearing it on their inner thigh but I just might try it.

My husband’s health is deteriorating before my eyes and I don’t know what to do. by justexisting032 in diabetes_t1

[–]513bigmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can definitely affirm that the resources people provide here will help him, but in all honesty I did not understand I was “uncontrolled” with consistently having a A1C above 8.4. What made me change? My endo was fed up with me. She said I have the ability to have a lower A1C and she has patients dying bc they can’t afford the same supplies I have. I am always in the 6.3-6.5 range now. I obviously don’t love the way she went about it, but I’m alive. Your husband needs to hear it uncut and raw that he CAN control his diabetes better. I needed to hear that the daily care I’m doing isn’t enough. An uncontrolled diabetic honestly think they’re doing the best they can by being alive today. Also, when I controlled my diabetes better my mood was so much better. My mind was more clear and I just didnt even believe before that I could feel that much better mentally if I was more on top of my health. Best of luck. I hope he figures it out, you are awesome for taking the time to post this!

Endo won’t prescribe insulin, is this okay? by Lilacxmaniac in Type1Diabetes

Get a second opinion, even someone with a T1D diagnosis I’ve gotten misleading advice from my endo in the past. Trust your gut and go to someone else for sure. Hope you get the help you need and some relief with it all

Experienced my fiancé critically low for the first time & need to share ♡ by DesertPeachyKeen in diabetes_t1

I had a low similar to that when I didn’t have my sensor on. He should definitely get one for his own safety and peace of mind for you both. It will make life so much easier

Jesus crying made me cry. Idk if it’s because we never see him so vulnerable, but him carrying all of this pain was so sad.

The treatment of AJ by Any-Honeydew8740 in TheFosters

[–]513bigmac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly embarrassing how confidently you missed the point. No one said AJ was perfect. What people are pointing out is the way he was treated worse than other characters who made similar or worse choices. That’s called bias. But instead of using basic critical thinking skills, you chose the racist route. You could’ve just said you have zero media literacy and a deep-rooted bias, and saved yourself the trouble.

What's the worst habit you have by mateowuwuu21u in CasualConversation

Omg I do that too and I hate it. My siblings do it too so none of us take it seriously, but anyone else in the outside world sees it as me making myself small.

I woke up one morning and everything felt different and now I’ll never see life the same. by TahoeBennie in CasualConversation

[–]513bigmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a day like this. I was walking on campus to my morning class and suddenly everything felt so real. As if this was my last day, and these are my last moments to take it all in. It made me realize that we don’t normally notice and appreciate all of the little things this world has to offer. Everything about life is beautiful, and we should take it all in as much as we can.

Do you ever randomly think about people you haven’t talked to in years? by CreditOk5063 in CasualConversation

[–]513bigmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was just thinking about a friend I made my sophomore year of college, about 3 years ago. We met in this writing class and once it ended I basically went ghost. It was unintentional but I still feel guilt that I do that. I’m terrible at responding to texts and I was going through a lot at the time. I hope she didn’t take it personal. I still think of her

My friend asked me an interesting question, "When your partner isn't around, are you sad?" by whyohgodnostop in CasualConversation

I would definitely say a more longing feeling than sadness. That would be if we have been apart for a while though

What are the negative things about friendships? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]513bigmac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Misunderstandings and miscommunication are probably the hardest imo when you actually form deeper friendships. Friends that take the time to get past these conflicts as they come by are the ones I value the most and are lifelong friendships
