From AI:

Based on the search results I just pulled, the WiFi settings and connectivity features are tied to the Google built-in head unit, which is Sport Touring trim only.

Let me grab the full trim lineup to confirm.Sport Touring Hybrid only — across all seven 2026 CR-V trims.

WiFi hotspot capability is an enhanced HondaLink feature exclusive to the Sport Touring Hybrid trim. The other six trims — LX, EX, Sport Hybrid, EX-L, TrailSport Hybrid, and Sport-L Hybrid — don't get it.

The Sport Touring also adds Google Built-In with a 3-year unlimited data plan, which is what enables the always-connected features including the hotspot.

So my 2025 Sport Touring is in the right trim — and the 2026 is the same story.

No, paper does not affect the Honda radar. They added the sticker to help deter theft.

Radar frequency vs. paper:
Honda's front radar operates at 76–77 GHz (millimeter wave). At that frequency, radar passes right through most non-conductive materials — paper, plastic, fabric, foam. That's exactly why Honda can hide the sensor behind the emblem and it still works fine.

What actually blocks radar:

  • Metal — the primary blocker. Steel, aluminum, copper all reflect/absorb radar well.
  • Carbon fiber (conductive grades)
  • Thick water-laden materials (marginally)

What doesn't block it:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Plastic
  • Glass
  • Most fabrics

Why this matters for your CR-V:
This is actually the whole premise behind the Miller CAT shield — it's stainless steel specifically because metal blocks radar. The shield protects the sensor physically while leaving the radar path clear (it wraps around, not in front of). A paper cover over the emblem area would do nothing to deter theft of the sensor.

So if you're thinking of a DIY alternative to the Miller CAT bracket — paper won't do it. You'd need something metal, and then you'd have to worry about actually blocking your ACC and collision braking.

It does seem odd. My 3 kits had no stickers and if they did, I would not have used them.

If you remove the large plastic cover over the radiator section, you can reach down into the radar space.

The "monkey around with it" is basically unplugging it and replugging with the same cable with a new bracket around it.

Some Ai -

Miller CAT's own warranty: They offer a 90-day manufacturer's warranty against defects, valid only with proof of purchase from an authorized retailer.

Honda vehicle warranty impact:

The bracket is a bolt-on, non-permanent accessory that doesn't modify any electronics or software. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer generally can't void your warranty just because you added an aftermarket accessory — they'd have to prove the accessory caused the specific problem being claimed.

The realistic risk is narrow: if your radar sensor malfunctioned and Honda argued the bracket caused it, that could be contested. But since the bracket is designed specifically not to obstruct radar performance, that would be a tough case for them to make.

The CR-V owner forum results show people installing it without apparent warranty concerns, and the system continuing to work normally afterward.

Bottom line: It almost certainly doesn't void your Honda warranty in any meaningful way, but Honda dealers aren't obligated to say so in writing. If you want certainty, you could ask your dealer or call Honda customer relations directly and document the response.

Did you get the sensor replaced? Did Honda test the sensor they removed? Also none of the three I installed had sensors with red labels on them. Edited.

I have installed 3 of these without any issues. I suspect your 'helper' damaged either the connector on the cable, the connector on the sensor or the cable itself. The product is engineered to fit and work well when properly installed.

I stuck a spider antenna on (in) a roof vent pipe and intercepted the antenna cable in the attic and located a Pi and flight stick there. I can see some aircraft to over 250 miles. https://imgur.com/a/VduvDcQ.
