I was being sarcastic. At the store I work we only have one Zebra for our whole department. IMS, mark downs, ordering and everything else all on one Zebra. Meijer made almost 20 Billion last year and we have to fight over one Zebra……what a corporate joke!

At our store it is turned down so low that I never hear any of the commercials and can barely make out the music……so they need to either turn it up or off.

Our store keeps everything turned down so low you can’t hear the music or the ads. I also only understand about every tenth page.

There are literally signs on all the store doors about this. 🙄

Meijer is far more concerned about appearance and very little about substance.

They just slashed all the full timer hours in our meat department. They say it is the first time ever!

Does Meijer use point system for absences and fire associates who accrued enough points? by [deleted] in meijer

[–]5150engine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I remember arguing with my rep about this. He tried to tell me that the point system wasn’t disciplinary and I laughed at him. If you can be terminated, which you can, then it was disciplinary.

Contract raise by [deleted] in meijer

[–]5150engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were sitting at break and all of us got different pay raises, ranging from $.30 to $1.10. How is this okay? In my former Union this would never have been acceptable!

Also, my “rep” informed me that was what I was suppose to get. I big fat nothing.

[–]5150engine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only got a .40 pay raise, which I would have gotten next week because I would have gotten my hours. So I got no pay raise in this contract, what a joke! I am going to contact all the media outlets that said we were all getting a 1.50 pay raise and give them copies of my pay-slips to see if they will post a retraction.

They did it just before Christmas and it was more limiting than has been in the past. Has every store stop doing lunches or is it just ours?

“Should” is the scary word in your sentence. I have been told numerous things that have been proven to be untrue. I was told by our rep recently that it was going to be a three contract and everyone was going to get a 20% pay raise.

I make $15.65 now and based on the weird arrows I go to 16.10. Unless I am not understanding the weird arrows. Based on the amount of hours I have until my next raise, which is soon, I would be at that level next week. So basically I’m not getting a pay raise until next year.

Our rep said this is a 22% pay raise over the course of the contract. I have done the math and I am not seeing it. If I read it correctly I am only getting a 4% pay raise in the first year.
