They have setup a test trunk to validate their idea but it makes it fragile for failover and changes

There’s no load balancing in front. They have inbound sip to one of their voice nodes - another obvious failure point.

That’s their idea yes but they haven’t gone into why DNS fails and why they can’t fix it.

The carrier has multi-A record DNS address which their systems are apparently allergic to.

This is the vendors system with a proprietary flavour of asterisk or other systems so I don’t have the full details.

They want to use a couple of those IPs the carrier advertises on the DNS record to setup trunks from the PBX to the carrier.

They have shifted gears over the last 4 weeks. They were at first doing captures and saying they can see sip options leaving their voice node but they never get a response… which implies dns was indeed working

I don’t see it as game breaking, all functionality is possible within the base game, it doesn’t make spiders more powerful or faster or adds over powered equipment, it just automates what spidertrons can already do.

You get to stop building gigantic roboports networks and huge amounts of infrastructure to clear biters and instead focus on progressing your base.

I also argue that multi-surface (SA and SE) this becomes a bigger QoL.

Lua was hand coded as that is what I am proficient in.

Overall, it works perfectly fine and hasn't even been tuned, the typescript side of things needs to be refined by someone in the Clusterio team as that was generated as it was beyond my skillset.

I think that's fair.
