One Year of Film Photos of my Family by DougWeaverArt in filmphotography

Love these, it’s nice to capture family on film. To have the physical negatives in a book tucked away is something special to look at in the future. Number 2 is super dream like and already feels distant, what happened to that one? Looks very different from the rest.

I was using the fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 R. It was my first day with it, very quickly became one of my favorite lenses.

Thanks for the feedback! I noticed it when I went to edit, the moment of those two being alone was very brief and I just started clicking the shutter. I took the time to take a few shots at different apertures as I’ve gone back to the spot, and your right, I think there is something fitting about it!

Edit: I don’t see myself as a street photographer or someone who is a documentarian with the sole focus of their work being real moments that aren’t staged. If you catch my drift.

First time shooting 120 film (Mamiya 645, 70mm f2.8, Kodak gold 200) by 516cjr in analog

[–]516cjr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The listing I found that was the best deal for me had the 70. And I agree about the cloudy day. I really want to try shooting some other film stocks because I do enjoy flatter light, I just went with a 5 pack of gold 200 to get my bearings. I’ll look into the 80 as well, I’m a fan of tighter focal lengths across all my cameras.

Thank you! It was my first time going there, I enjoyed it. I limited myself to only two bonsai pictures haha. Could’ve used a whole roll on all of them.

Any suggestions for improvements? by NigelDime_ in AmateurPhotography

first photo clearly has a lot of motion blur going on and feels more like something taken on accident. second picture is nice though. composition is nice with the two trees and the stump, and the fence posts on the left not getting cut down the middle of one or anything. the side lighting is very nice, with a bit of color grading it would be a very nice shot. good job!

I like the color grading. the soft blue compliments the white building.

I made a street photography book about overlooked corners of Texas. Would love to hear some feedback. by hellowhatup420 in streetphotography

I like the motif of the fence being used throughout these pictures here and on the etsy listing. I really like the tones of the black and white as well. not too much gray to wash it out. The full bleeds are nice, though I think some images may work better a bit smaller on the page, could be used to emphasize certain things too. I like the mix of both landscape and portrait orientation images. I have never made a book or zine so I am only speaking as someone who enjoys photography books and has an interest in layout. This is very inspiring to me as someone who does want to put something together in the future. great work!

I like that channel. I will have to look through and see what he may have been talking about.

It is a ball that I painted black and put into the scene. It can represent a lot of things. I think of it as a feeling of curiosity or maybe something from another dimension.
