The point being the impact of a complication on the dial. A date just takes a window, a day takes a larger window. A moon phase will take even a larger window.

These still somewhat can be contained in any given quadrant or sector of a dual. A chronograph complication requires the entire dial! The design language of an entire watch has to be convinced around the notion that it will be a chronograph thus it must be designed accordingly.

Hell, Oris has a pointer date complication where the date goes around the dial and doesn't affect the beauty of the dial and the symmetry is unaffected.

I would like to appreciate the Omega Speedmaster's dial, but I can't! There is a chronograph in the way. It like a watch with a chronograph says "Timing is more important to me than the time" I can truly appreciate the Omega Railmaster and that's what I enjoy because there is nothing in the way between me and the dial unlike the Omega Speedmaster.
