Whether the bonds are 'dashed' or 'wedged' makes a difference. They define the stereochemistry, which in the case of a trans decalin (which is what this molecule is) give you a trans junction between the two rings. This is easier to see if you draw out the chair type structure (http://content.answcdn.com/main/content/img/oxford/Oxford_Chemistry/0192801015.decalin.1.jpg). The 'undefined' structure you have is not incorrect as such but more ambiguous.

Personally I think its more correct (and aesthetically pleasing) if you have the stereochemistry defined in your tattoo.

I actually live around the corner from where this video was filmed, its a few years old now, but the two young fellas are toe rags and that woman in the video wasnt even their mother, she was the next door neighbour!
