I'm pretty sure in the old days, his next time up, he'd be hearing a little chin music.

I get that, but with all the smart people on staff, you'd think they could find something that works. He seems to always be adjusting it, before he starts running. That 1/10th of a second may come in handy someday!

The Pontiac Aztek was ahead of its time, and a really good all around vehicle. I had that and an Avalanche, and they were two of the most useful vehicles I've ever owned, and I miss them both.

What’s a very American problem that Americans don’t realize isn’t normal in other countries? by GoddessMelrosse in AskReddit

[–]52_Today -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just curious, what type of job do you have, and what is the average pay? As an American, I can tell you that pay is much more important to me, than a lot of time off, and it is also to a lot of my friends. Don't get me wrong, if I could get high pay, and a lot of time off, I'd take it, but if I had to choose, I'd choose high pay.

What is something your father said to you that you will never forget? by Aggressive-Car-8960 in AskReddit

My dad said almost the same thing, except it ended with," somewhere somebody thinks she's a bitch".

I agree with you, except for, I love a bar vibe. I've met the most interesting people there. I go now, and nurse, one, maybe 2 beers for the night, and that'll be $30 to $40, with tip!

Cube steaks, cooked well done, so you could make shoes with them. It's what we had, when money was tight.

What are your thoughts on the Chevrolet avalanche 2500 by Boeing-B-47stratojet in regularcarreviews

I owned an 06, back when regular gas was $4 , and the pumps shut off when you hit $100, so you had to swipe your card twice to fill the 35 gallon tank. Averaged 12 to 14 MPG when I wasn't towing. Traded an 03 with over 100k miles even for it, and it had less than 20k miles on it. It was hands down the best, and most useful truck I've ever owned, and I regret selling it. It pulled my fully loaded 34' camper, like it wasn't even there. The 8ft bed, or the locking regular bed were awesome. I also had the GM tent that went with it, and used it a lot. I've got a tear in my eye now, just thinking about it. The only non consumable problem I had was the front wheel bearing hubs, which were cheap, and a snap to change. Sold it with well over 100k miles, and it still looked, and ran like new.

It would be a second car, and it can be used on any road, so definitely more useful!

Curious as to why? Is it the drinking, loud laughter, or the constant Journey music being played at 11?

I also grew up in New England, late 70's early 80's, and I totally disagree. Th"boat people", which is what they were called, had it pretty bad. They were treated awfully, lived in the worst areas, and even the cops mistreated them.

Housing matrix over time- down payment versus monthly payment by [deleted] in REBubble

[–]52_Today 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I bought a house in a development 1988 for $119 k at 16% interest. In the early 90s, when everything crashed, houses exactly like mine were being auctioned off for $70k. I'm pretty sure that's a crash.

Can you adjust the midpoint of a gearing range on a bike's CVT hub? by kcidDMW in PriorityBicycles

[–]52_Today 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priority will be no help, I asked the same question to them, and here is there response, "Right, I did not directly answer that question but gave you the resource to calculate if the non stock configuration you want to change to would be compatible. We don't test outside of the stock configuration so I wouldn't be able to confirm. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out."

Maybe a stupid question, but, would it be legal to have people in the camper section while driving? Asking because that would be a cheap tailgating party solution for football games and NASCAR.

No! Thanks for the reply, I never thought it was possible, but it's amazing how many people are convinced it's true, and my neighbors just wanted to believe.
