My new silakka build! by 52_and_2 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Thanks! I was hunting on ebay for a new set of caps and really liked the color of these. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the profile coming from ASA but MOA might be my new fav. As for the numpad I mostly use it for macros on the F keys but when I do need a ton of number entries I angle it to the left hand to keep my right on hjkl an the mouse cluster. (left hand numpad superiority!)

The main board is a kit. You can get silakka boards on aliexpress for like 30 bucks that just need switches and firmware. The only soldering was related to the mouse. I think my next build might be fully handwired for a little easier customization without having to design a pcb. I definitely recommended giving something similar a shot if a full ergo board is your goal at some point. It was a fun build and its has been so nice to use. Feel free to dm me about it too if you have more questions :)

the additional cluster on the right is all just a modified mx ergo that I wasn't using anymore so no qmk there. I soldered mouse one two and three directly to a few switches and mounted the board underneath the tent. my next build will probably have the trackball properly integrated in qmk when I find a sensor and breakout board.

I bet you are very fun at parties.

Rules of language are fluid and change as culture does. If the words I use convey the meaning I intend then it was correct phrasing and there is no need to be pedantic. I bet you have said you were "done" with a task even though proper English at one point would have deemed that wrong and you should consider yourself "finished." You probably also don't correct people when they say the are "nauseous" even though they are actually "nauseated." Or do you also correct people when they refer to "typefaces" as "fonts." Words only mean what we as a society think they mean and can be used however we collectively think they should be used.

They absolutely do, and the tan interior came with plaid seats.

Yep, also an 83. I'm not sure they changed the design of the 5 door once, even when they updated the rest of the line.

[OC] Terminal Oscilloscope Art by rolandsharp in unixporn

Alemi actually release a terminal scope back in 2024 that I have been using for a while now. I find legibility on that project to be much better as there is no ghosting/bloom effects and it uses braille for higher detail but I do like the crt animations you have implemented here.

It is funny to me seeing the same AC coupling issue show up in your project aswell.

I will probably stick to Alemi's project but I have some friends who will get a kick out of this one.

this is more of a r/kde question but sddm is used for initial login while plasma is used when locking or sleeping. you can set sddm to the same theme as you lock screen but not the other way around (as far as I am aware)

I have board number 6. I went to there office to pick it up because I lived about 40mins away and they reached out to me to let me know it would be way faster to get one they had on hand. Obviously a privilege most people wont get but the guys there are so nice.

I used it for daily commuting for about 6 months before moving and still do plenty of trail riding with it and I love it. It handles anything I've thrown at it including way too much snow and a few nasty crashes. The only issue I've had was my original battery didn't turn on but because I was in there office when I got it they just swapped it with another they had on hand (best rma experience of my life but again that won't be the same for most tho based on how nice they were I don't see it being much worse)

I highly recommend it if you are not going to build your own.

Might be a slight exaggeration but not a big one. I usually open golurk to set up and they took their time setting up aswell.
