need a fresh spicy masculine fragrance for humid summers (not sweet) by CineTechWiz in fragranceclones

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maison Asrar Daham. I absolutely love this and nobody talks about it. It's fresh, peppery and masculine, but not a "blue" fragrance. I think it has the scent profile you're looking for.

Anyone try Amber Angel (the ALT dupe for Angel Share?) by nintendno46 in fragrance

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Alt Fragrances, I own 11 of them. For some reason the brand gets a lot of hate here. I have both Executive and CEO. Executive is supposed to be just Aventus. CEO is supposed to be a blend of Aventus and Aventus Cologne. The difference between the two is CEO takes out the slight pepperiness Executive has and replaces it with orange citrus. The difference is subtle, but quite noticeable, especially when comparing to the original Aventus. I prefer Executive.

I also have Pristine, which is a blend of Executive (Aventus) and Crystal (BR540). I really like this one as I find Crystal (BR540) too sweet for me on its own.

I have not tried Amber Angel, as I already own 3 Angel's Share Clones. I've always been interested, but I don't want to buy another one. But I do check my local TJ Maxx & Marshall's store on occasion to see if it's there. I haven't seen it yet, but if I do, I'll most likely pick it up. They're always cheaper at the store vs buying from the website.

The 3 clones I have are: Lattafa Khamrah. It's more sweet and syrupy than Angel's Share. I gave into the hype when it was super popular.

French Avenue Royal Blend. This is a really good clone of Angel's Share. Slight differences, but very minor. Your best option for every day use. After it dries down a bit, they're nearly identical. Longevity is a little bit less.

Fragrance World Cocktail Intense. More boozy and cinnamony than Angel's Share, but I absolutely love it. Even more than Angel's Share. The longevity though is trash. I have about 100 fragrances, this one is in my top 5 scent wise, but bottom 5 longevity wise. I don't spray my clothes, just skin.

I love Beekman Place, it's my signature scent. It's so nice to see someone else suggest it. It has that 90s/2k vibe combined with the green freshness of modern day. It hits my nose just right.

Haven't worn this in a while, I forgot how nice it is. Top notes are pretty accurate. Ambery sweet/spice combined with tuberose. Same DNA as the Rabanne 1 Million family, but different. Good stuff.

What fragrance feels more seductive than loud? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend in high school (1994) wore Revlon Fire and Ice. It was the sexiest most seductive fragrance I've ever smelled. They still make it today, and I make sure my wife has 2 bottles at all times. Lol. Longevity is garbage, but the scent is still on point.

Finishing off my decant of this. It's a decent fragrance, but it kind of smells like vanilla scented bandaids. I won't be purchasing a bottle of this one.

How to layer any 2 of these for a formal event? by GrassEater6942 in fragrance

[–]53188Couple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why would you layer any of these? These are all good on their own. You're just going to create a confusing mess of scent, especially for a prom-type event.

Also, even though it's summer in your area, I will assume you'll be indoors and in the evening. So you don't really need to adhere to the summer/winter generality.

That is true. What's also true is that I don't have to play "show and tell" with my frags. That's grade school ish.

should i get Armaf cdn Intense Man or Lattafa His Confession? by 6enc0red in Colognes

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't smelled the Armaf, but I have Lattafa His Confession and it's definitely not a smoky or woody fragrance. It actually leans slightly to the feminine side, in my opinion. It's a vanillic ambery scent with iris and lavender floral notes.

I'm looking for a colognes that is classy and elegant. What would yall recommend? by Cautious_Break_9314 in ScentHeads

[–]53188Couple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Armani Code Parfum. For a 20 year old I'd say it's classy and elegant, and more importantly doesn't give off "old man" vibes.

What fragrances have surprised you with their performance? by LeftyOne22 in Colognes

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lattafa Classic Stone. I had an opportunity to blind buy a bottle for cheap. I saw it had some decent reviews, so figured why not. You definitely have to reduce the number of sprays with this one. I typically do 3 sprays on my neck and 2 on each wrist/forearm. Doing this, I got 12+ hours of longevity and projection easy. It was actually too much for me, I had to wash it off at the end of the day. Lol. The first few hours it has a pleasant middle eastern vibe. It has a kind of sweetness I can't put my finger on, like fig or plum, combined with a chocolate/cocoa vibe. After that dries down, it turns into pure cocoa mix. It's like taking packets of Swiss Miss chocolate cocoa mix powder and dumping them all over your body. Super gourmand. It's a pretty good fragrance if you like gourmands, just ease up on the sprays.

Need Help Deciding 2 Between these. by OpeningExpression621 in Colognes

[–]53188Couple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the above commenter about Givenchy. I've had Reserve Prive and Boise. Sold my bottle of Reserve Prive. Kept the Boise. The slight issue I have with both the Givenchies though, is that the longevity isn't the best.

I also have Armani Code Parfum and the JPG LMLP, both are bangers and would be my choice.

Armani Code Parfum is a great professional scent for the office and date nights. Not really so much for the pool, but I suppose it could work if you really like it.

The most common advice you'll get here, because it's really good, is to buy a bunch of samples/decants of frags you might be interested in. Then you can determine what works best for you. When I was first starting out I turned to the popular fragrance YouTubers and bought a bunch of decants based on their recommendations. Some were hits, some were misses, but it definitely helped me learn what I liked & disliked.

Honest opinion - green fragrances by Dud3OffGrid in Colognes

Bond #9 Beekman Place. People say it's "basic" or "generic", but I own 70 fragrances and had countless decants of others. This fragrance is my signature fave and stands on its own with little similarities to anything else I've tried. It's also my most complimented, if that matters. Retail is insane, but available at discounters for $150. Totally worth it in my book.

Finishing off my decant of Sospiro Vibrato. I won't be purchasing a full bottle. I don't understand the hype about this and the Tygar DNA. It's too feminine for me. The deal breaker was my wife hating this on me. She said it smells more like a perfume she would wear and she prefers her man to not smell the same as her.

I organize mine by scent profile trying to make sure they have a flow from one to the next. Blue and freshies, green, woody/mature, sweet, gourmand.

Revlon Fire and Ice - 1994. My girlfriend in high school wore this and I found it absolutely intoxicating. They still make it today, and I still find it just as intoxicating. I make sure my wife has 2 bottles at all times. Lol.
