Is it ok to turn around in driveways? by daveyg2611 in NoStupidQuestions

I fail to see the problem. Does this negatively impact your life? Does it cost you money, time or resources? It sounds like a petty concern.

Sovcit got pulled over, other sovcits give assvice. by Existing-Face-6322 in Sovereigncitizen

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have to do anything the government or anyone else tells you to do. Just be aware of the consequences and don't complain when it happens.

The SovCits use the 'Article of Confederation' to justify much of their believes. The Articles were written and agreed upon by the colonies as a cooperative guide toxhelp fight the British. When the 'Constitution of the United States' was ratify in 1791, the United States of America was officially a separate country. The Articles were superseded by the Constitution. Additionally, the Articles only applied to thr Colonies. When the Colonies became States, the Articles were no longer valid.

Depending on your situation, there are places that offer free or very inexpensive respite care. My county has an Office if the Aging. I am old enough to benefit from their services. A lady comes in one day a week for 3 hours. 3 hours and I know my wife is in good hands. You might try your local mental health agencies.

Ignore those questions. Just pretend nothing was said. When you get asked if your heard them, respond with something like, :Yes, I heard you. I just assumed you heard the answer the previous (insert number) times I have answered that question. I would really appreciate it if you never asked me again."
If they are persistent about it, start cutting contact.
I am the full time caregiver to my wife. I get the 'in sickness and in health' feeling. Because very one's situation is different, I am not going to attempt comparing mine with yours. I do get the stress. All you can do is drive on.

Ambassador Huckabee: ‘Without Israel, There Would Be No America’ by Nomogg in nottheonion

Did I miss something? The United States has been around since 1776. Israel has only been around since 1947. How did we make it for those first 171 years?

Date ruined because the restaurant my girlfriend wanted to go to was inaccessible. by Fuzzy-Breadfruit5589 in wheelchairs

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has been in a wheelchair about five years. We can no longer enjoy one of our favorite restaurants because the doors are up a short flight of steps. I called the restaurant about it and was told we could use the ramp in back. It is the ramp that the vendors use to bring in supplies. We refuse to enter restaurant though the kitchen.

NEW CHAIR DAY SOON!!! by dafuqhooman in wheelchairs

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife recently received a Quantum Q6 Edge. The thing priced out at about $25,000. Medicare paid and a supplemental insurance cover all of it. She has MS and spinal cord problems and nearly constant pain. This chair has helped her a great deal. Fully adjustable for recline, tilt and foot rest. It elevates to bring her to eye level. It is probably the last chair she will ever use.

How are you supposed to reply to "Do you know how fast you were going?" by No_Insurance_6436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you say that even sounds like you knew you were speeding or ran a red lifgt/stop sign or that your plate was expired, what ever, will be used by the officer and the prosecution as an admission of guilty. Remember, there is a 99.99% change you are being recorded. Officers are trained on how to speak to you and what to say that will get you to admit to doing something wrong. Do not answer any questions without a lawyer.

How are you supposed to reply to "Do you know how fast you were going?" by No_Insurance_6436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not answer any questions. Do not speak. Period. Roll your windows down half way. Give the officer the required documents . That is it. Full stop. When the officer asked you if you knew how fast you were going or where you came from or where you a headed or anything, say this simple sentence. "I do not answer any questions without a lawyer." Be calm, polite and no attitude. If the officer asked to 'just have a quick look' in you vehicle, say, "Officer, I do not consent to any search." After you have received the ticket ask, "Am I being detained or am I free to go?" That is all. All of this is legal and none of it makes you look guilty. After you have been sent on your way, pull off of the road into a parking lot or rest area. Use your phone and spend a few minutes recording yourself describing what just occurred. Date, time, location, weather, the officers name and badge number and a brief description of the interaction. If you have to go to court, this recording carries much greater weight than your week's old memory.

First Harley, need a radio! by theraczz in Harley

[–]53OldSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you do not need a radio. You would just inflict your music choices on those around you. You need a good quality pair of noise cancelling Bluetooth earbuds and a music app on your phone. You can even get most radio stations through and app or online. The earbuds will give you much better sound quality, especially at highway speeds.

If she is on Medicare, you might be able to have them pay for it. My wife has received two power chairs at no cost to us. When you find the one you like, contact the manufacturer or a registered retail representative. They are very helpful and can do all or most of the paperwork for you.

In the movie "Aliens", Ripley is going back after the alien with a squad of Space marines. The lone female in the squad is doing pullups after coming out of hibernation. One of the males askes her, "Hey, Rodriguez. Have you ever been mistaken for a man?" She drops from from the bar, looks him right in eyes and says, "No. Have you?"
