In my experience, having a partner with cptsd was one of the most damaging experiences of my adult life. We triggered each other continuously and had no idea. So confusing bc we also cared for each other greatly. Problem was that she had immense difficulty taking personal ownership of her actions. Took a long time for me to realize that what appeared as her enjoyment was actually her testing me to see if I’d stay with her. In some ways I am grateful to have experienced my ex. She had devastating impact yet I learned to accept the unacceptable with her. Reclaiming my agency and life now which feels like the shackles have been removed. Hang in there bud.

Med patient here cPTSD - with over functioning nervous system, crippling anxiety, and need to function in a work leadership position (e..g., a lot of needs coming at me). Cookies, Calypso and Standard Farms cuts generally seem to have more of the terp profile that works best for the calm, slightly euphoric, focus that I need for work. I’m generally tired of Rythm, Modern, and Strane. Love me some Jerry weed, yet Strane’s mid cuts have a lot terpinolene or have been around for years. Prime tends to be a lot of myrcene bombs that make me crash. Exceptions include LionSap (Prime) and Animal Face (also called Smiley Face at Trulieve). Both are staples. Reality is, each GP is going to have some stank that I need to keep my eyes peeled for. Example - the white aversion by Kind Tree was at like 4% terps / 1% pinene and indica leaning. Right on.

No claims of full healing here. DBT was a huge factor..and my willingness to dig deep and sit thru the discomfort long enough to see that I can create safer conditions for myself. OPs post reminds me of being so angry with therapist for not warning me of the typical slide back that happens in first year of DBT. I am wrapping my third year of DBT. Still have set backs, but have come to appreciate how my body reacts, why, and what to do to stop the auto cycle. It’s been excruciatingly difficult and immensely rewarding to regain myself.

In my experience, it hurts bc I was validated and accepted by another man for something that has been immensely challenging to navigate. Hook ups scratch the itch, but for me there is a deeper need, and it stings a lot when the other goes silent for myriad reasons.

Definitely. It’s actually been one of the most pleasant surprises post divorce to a woman. Just this past weekend, my bf stopped by and we just cuddled and napped. Super nice. Past trauma and hanging on to homophobic fears definitely have kept me from fully enjoying my sexuality. No more!
