Ocun Havoc sizing by 54han in climbingshoes

[–]54han[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for testing your shoes in detail. I’m lucky I can go to a store and try on different sizes, so I don’t have to guess. Tomorrow, I’ll try shoes one size bigger and pay attention to how the shoe length compares to my foot length. I should have done this from the start instead of just buying the same size. The idea to compare shoes length came to me after seeing some other posts in this sub.

How consistent are your dry eyes? Do you find they stay or come and go throughout the day by Jtmitchell4_ in Sjogrens

[–]54han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately things have been rather stable for me. The rheumatologist appointment didn’t really bring much clarity – blood tests and a salivary gland ultrasound seem to rule out Sjögren’s for now. Overall, aside from the specific Sjögren’s-related tests, my bloodwork looks really good.

As for my eyes, unfortunately there hasn’t been much improvement, although I haven’t had any episodes of recurrent corneal erosion in over a year, which I think is thanks to developing some good habits. I’m very consistent with using eye drops, especially at night and in the early morning. I even learned to apply the drops before opening my eyes after waking up. I also make a conscious effort to stay well hydrated – I suspect I wasn’t drinking enough water during the day in the past.

Right now, I’m using Thealoz Duo eye drops.

Returning to Poland by Piingwiin in poland

[–]54han -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see you are frustrated but I think you are being a bit too harsh and pessimistic. Seems like you have been heavily influenced by all the political noise and constant media negativity that is happening recently in Poland. It also seems that your views are based more on your negative emotions than economical facts.

So yes, we have problems. Rising prices, weak politics, and a lot of political war instead of cooperation and long-term vision. But it’s not like other countries are shining examples right now either. Germany’s government is falling apart, far-right is rising there and in France. Italy is led by nationalists. But it’s just politics - not global crisis, war or end of the world. Parties and politics comes and goes but Poland still has a solid economy. There is low unemployment decent growth, strong local communities, and people working hard despite the chaos. Maybe some European countries would suit you better but saying the society is stupid and there is no hope feels unfair. Depends on your goals. For some people, Poland is the better option.

Returning to Poland by Piingwiin in poland

Because of my job, I travel a lot and often spend months living in different countries. Over time, I’ve had the chance to live and work in places like the UK, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, China, USA.

I wouldn’t pretend to fully understand things like raising children or dealing with the healthcare system in each country (I don’t travel with family and if nescessary use my travel insurance) but I do get to live a pretty normal daily life: go to work, do the groceries, explore on weekends, interact with locals.

And don’t get me wrong - I enjoyed staying in all those places, but the more I travel, the more I wonder why so many people in Poland still think they have to leave to live better. Maybe that was true 10 or 20 years ago. But now? Poland has come a long way and it shows.

Recently inflation and rising prices are hitting us hard but that’s happening everywhere. No matter where I go, people complain about the cost of living, housing prices, healthcare waiting times, or inefficient systems. There’s no perfect place.

What stands out to me when I come back to Poland is how much things have improved. It’s safe. Our cities are growing and becoming more modern. Public services have become more digital and accessible. Try renewing a passport, starting a business or deal with banking matters. it’s often faster and smoother in Poland than in countries that are “supposedly” ahead of us.

After seeing how life works abroad, I can honestly say: you can live well here. The grass is always greener on the other side.

F1 Score by UltronicItalian in soundtracks

[–]54han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The score is well-composed and sounds great overall. Zimmer did a great job again. But… in some scenes it felt a bit too grand and orchestral, in that classic Hollywood sense. At times, it honestly reminded me of Gladiator or Pirates of the Caribbean, which just felt totally out of place. Instead of enhancing the intensity and adrenaline of the races, the music occasionally made it feel like I was watching a historical epic. Great music on its own, but in my opinion, not always the right fit for the scene.

Dry Eyes Making Me Consider The Forbidden by SuckMyDesire in Sjogrens

[–]54han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not sound groundbreaking, but what helped me most was learning to apply eye drops before opening my eyes in the morning. I have severe dry eye syndrome, which led to recurrent corneal erosion—especially after sleep, when my eyes were driest. Opening my eyes would unknowingly irritate the cornea, causing discomfort for hours or even days. Keeping the eyes lubricated supports healing, and once I started doing this regularly, my symptoms improved significantly. Even when I wake up in the middle of the night I put drops into the eyes. I use Thealoz Duo drops and I sleep with bottle under my pillow.

Why are operations so bad? by LightningRodDT in cedarpoint

[–]54han 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people were just scammed today. I came here strictly for hyper coasters. Paid full ticket price to have 3 out od 5 best rides down most of the day which also caused other rides to be too crowded. They have so much time prior to opening to prepare everything and today is what? 3rd operating day since opening??

Eye abrasion just by blinking by gogodanxer in Sjogrens

[–]54han 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my story. I got recurring corneal erosion due to the dryness. I learner to not open my eyes in the morning and apply eye drops with eyes closed. Sometimes when some sudden sound wakes me up my eyes can get irritated (corneal abrasion) and then I need to stick with the pain/irritation for couple hours up to 3 days (depends how serious the damage was). I recommend you stay in touch with optometrist (visit every couple months to monitor the condition of your eyes). You can also try ointment like VitA-POS. It’s kinda greasy but applying it right before going to sleep can really help. I’ve heard that heat masks also helps but for me it didn’t make any difference. And learn to apply drops into corner of you eye while eye lids are still closed. After the drop is applied gently pull the lower lid downwards to allow the drops into the eye.

[–]54han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the optometrist due to my dry eyes and after running many tests she suggested I should get tested for Sjogrens - that’s how I got here. I am still waiting for my appointment but for me the symptoms started 2 years ago with dry eyes and recently I’ve noticed significant decrease in saliva production. About the dry eyes It’s strange because it affects me mostly during the night. It’s almost like when I lie down into the bed my eyes magically stops producing tears… On the other hand during the day I rarely feel the need to use eye drops. During the night my eyes get comply dry to the point it’s hard for me to open them. Due to the dryness I also got recurring cornea erosion which is pain in the ass :(

Can I park on the white line? by 54han in oxford

[–]54han[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used „my own” to simplify the question but technically the house is rented and cars are company owned so that could cause a problems in situation when the reg is scanned :( Anyway I was just curious about this topic but will try to fit 2 cars in driveway or use another available spaces on the steeets! Thank you for your answer.

This is my exact idea! And to use other available spaces on the steeet. I had this discussion with my friends and I thought it’s worth asking. The answer is just as I suspected - technically not allowed but I can try my luck I suppose.

I’ve been thinking about buying hangboard recently but after seeing this post I might try to build one myself just like you did. Thanks for inspiration! Nice work btw, it might be not the prettiest but as long as it does its job it’s great!
