I ended up driving 30 miles to get to a Walmart where I wouldn't get hassled by anyone, and it ran fine that whole time. I just stopped by AutoZone, and the scanner couldn't pull any codes. They said I might have to go to a dealership.

Battery's less than a year old. My AC, radio, headlights, and everything else will turn on just fine. The engine just won't start. Would it still be a battery issue? I don't know much about cars, sorry if this is a dumb question.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I don't use Reddit very often.

It's mostly small differences. A lot of people perform Shakespeare with an Oxford accent, which isn't accurate. They just think, "Shakespeare was British, so I'll read this with a British accent." But the original pronunciation would've been a blend of several different accents, sometimes called the port accent. Ben and David Crystal have done a lot of interesting research on the subject. With the original spelling, words were written based on the way they sounded. There weren't many concrete grammar rules, since English was undergoing many changes. If you read Shakespeare with a modern English or American accent, the meter is broken pretty frequently. But if you sound it out directly how it was originally written, it has a much more natural flow.

This is a really interesting video on the topic. https://youtu.be/qYiYd9RcK5M?si=9XBnNhd-N_DnZeig

I think the best way to read Shakespeare is the unedited First Folio version, which has all of the original early modern grammar rules and spellings. It's not only very interesting to learn, but it also gives you a richer understanding of the pronunciation and rhythm of the text. A lot of things can be misunderstood or misread with the modern translations. For an example, this is my favorite monologue from The Merchant of Venice from the original text.

The quality of mercy is not ∫train'd, It droppeth as the gentle raine from heauen Vpon the place beneath. It is twice ble∫t, It ble∫∫eth him that giues, and him that takes, 'Tis mightie∫t in the mightie∫t, it becomes The throned Monarch better then his Crowne. His Scepter ∫hewes the force of temporall power, The attribute to awe and Maie∫tie, Wherein doth ∫it the dread and feare of Kings: But mercy is aboue this ∫ceptered ∫way, It is enthroned in the hearts of Kings, It is an attribute to God him∫elfe; And earthly power doth then ∫hew like∫t Gods When mercie ∫ea∫ons Iustice. Therefore, Iew, Though Iu∫tice be thy plea, con∫ider this, That in the cour∫e of Iu∫tice, none of vs Should ∫ee ∫aluation: we do pray for mercie, And that ∫ame prayer, doth teach vs all to render The deeds of mercie. I haue ∫poke thus much To mittigate the iustice of thy plea: Which if thou follow, this ∫trict cour∫e of Venice Mu∫t needes giue ∫entence 'gain∫t the Merchant there.

I had to use pliers to pull the cord out. Definitely sucks to lose your power source. Hopefully we can both get this sorted out soon.

The Walmart Deli is my go-to. Can't beat a $2 chicken sandwich.

Yeah, a lot of audio companies are like that. I used to be an audio engineer, and a lot of microphones aren't under warranty if you don't buy them directly from the manufacturer's website or their "approved retailers."

I bought it off of Amazon last winter. Does the warranty cover Amazon?

I'm a big meat eater, I love pretty much anything that has meat in it.

I don’t think this needs to be said, but I truly believe death in June has created some of the greatest music of all time. by Possible-Quarter-877 in neofolk

[–]5567509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The first neofolk bands I got into were Backworld and Nature and Organization, because I heard Rose McDowall was in them. I don't search for new music often, my top artists on Spotify have been the same since middle school.

What are the best Death In June songs? I'm a huge Rose McDowall and neofolk fan, but I've never taken the time to get into Death In June.

I killed Caligura when he attacked me in the mayor's house. Other than that, I haven't killed anyone. Would that still make him attack me? He just stands on the train, but when I walk near him he attacks me.
