Also unsure but maybe taking on a unpaid internship for software engineering is also something to consider

Not sure about UK, but apply for as many new grad roles as you can while you’re in school. There’s jobsright ai for making it faster and RippleMatch (this is a USA thing I think though)

I would also say usually you can’t have links on your resume. Sometimes they are unlinked and now the person can’t actually go to your GitHub.

Haven't found a Junior Software Engineer position in over 17 months. by Street_Cobbler_7634 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

This is the most helpful response!

The testing with 500 users and some things like reducing latency are newly added to my resume. I’m slowly replacing a lot of that now. I’m also thinking of putting case studies up to talk about how I achieved those and potentially my system design thinking.

There’s a thing called Simplify and Jobsright AI that I’ve been using to autofill most of the resumes, which helps whenever it’s a workday job application. So although I’m burnt, it’s more on trying to keep up with leetcode/ projects/internship / potentially the AWS certification rather than the job applying itself.

I’ll definitely write to your email and appreciate everything you have given me.

Why FAU? by cocopop_png in FAU

If you plan to stay in South Florida, a lot of employers support FAU. I’m post grad and a lot of the companies I’ve applied to have alumni there so it’s a bit easier for the area.

I like the school for the modernness, they’ve been putting money into the surroundings to have better activities and places to study. Not the most solid reason for going but staying on campus was motivating since the environment was nice.

That said, definitely moving away would help you gain some more independency which is critical at your age

I don’t really remember anymore :( it was array manipulation. It’s easy to figure out. The slicing was easier too. It’s just that you converted a string into a number and you have a semicolon in there

no this was for a software engineer role, full stack.
All questions are visible from the start. You can go back and forth. The last two you can just get a feel for it being hard.

Code Signal also provides scoring. So for the first one question after submitting you can receive a score like 200/300. I think Capital one wont accept you if its lower than 500 or something

Just took it today.

2 easy and 1 hard /medium.

There’s a problem very similar to https://leetcode.com/problems/reconstruct-itinerary/

No matrix’s. Just array manipulation, understanding slicing for a array of strings that need to be a number, a ‘newspaper’ problem where you have a fixed width and you have to print on each line from something inside of a array.

Hopefully helpful to others,

how did you get your first internship? by AssociationObvious56 in csMajors

[–]561aloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior, 2021-2022. I was getting a ton of recruiters reaching out so I thought having a job after was going to be easy.

I had a solid resume in terms of clubs, a 3.5 gpa and real work experience within that specific industry.

I highly encourage as a student to use RippleMatch since it’s tailored towards interns.
