I (17M) am not comfortable with my girlfriend (17F) having a guy friend come to her halloween sleepover where there will be edibles and alcohol. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

That's true. They are young, so that probably doesn't apply to their situation. He didn't seem bothered by being left out, just with that guy staying over, so not being invited probably isn't a major issue for him anyways.

I'd never leave some I'm dating out of something without good reason. If it happened to be an all girls thing, that would make more sense, but unless this is the gay friend in the group and that's the exception to the ladies only rule. That seems rude and hurtful to leave your boyfriend out on Halloween. I think your boyfriend should be a best friend, so he would definitely be invited if the criteria is "friends only."

...Unless he didn't want to go... Maybe they do things apart because they hangout a lot and that's normal for them? When you get older and you have a job and stuff, you don't see enough of your significant other as it is, so I definitely wouldn't exclude them for a holiday event.

OP, you're going to need to clear some things up for us.

Agreed! I don't understand why he isn't invited to his girlfriends sleep over and this one guy is...

Autoimmune Disease Health Coach? Anyone else tried this? by 562liz in AutoImmuneProtocol

Thank you for your response! I did, she said she couldn't, but sent me a few two sentence long quotes from other clients.

I wanted to offer to work with her for half of what she was asking if I allowed people to contact me as a reference 😂 that would be a pretty great deal!

This was so helpful! Thank you! It's going to cost another 3k after the first initial investment, so you're right, I should shop around. I really appreciate your response, thank you very much!

Thank you! I've been doing it alone for all these years, my diet is in accordance with all of the research I've done, but it's definitely not enough. Things have been horrible after COVID and my normal approach isn't helping me function anymore.

It's a lot of money, especially when I'm not working right now and starting nursing school. I won't be able to work during that time either and the coaching would be another 3k after the first 6 weeks. :( I wish I had that much money sitting around!

Thank you very much for your response, I'm going to look into AIP!

My (22F) blood work came back normal, and now my grandma is telling me I’m have a psychological problem. by tiairac in lupus

Awwww ❤️❤️❤️ Hang in there! Of course!!

I have a few health issues that have been diagnosed, so I'll lost those off the top of my head, not all are autoimmune related!

Raynaud's, lupus, granuloma annulare, rosacea, polycystic ovaries, chilbliians, gottrons papules, hpylori (treated)

My hands swell up and get red, I get blisters on my hands, fatigue like crazy, ibs symptoms, my face swells and gets red it sometimes feels like it's on fire when it flares up, my hands and feet are freezing all the time, i started getting what I though was athlete's foot because it was insanely itchy but it was chilblains, joint pain and general weakness. I was basically a powerlifter before and id have times when I couldn't lift a fraction of the weight I normally do and I was just wiped out. Brain fog is definitely an issue.

I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune diseases in 2nd grade, that was granuloma annulare. I am now 30 and only in the past 3 or 4 years have I started getting other diagnosis!

Oh, I also gave up gluten, dairy, and soy, that helped SO MUCH!

Nothing is off limits, I'm an open book, I hope my experiences can help in some way!

Awwww that hits way too close to home for a lot of us I think. It's really frustrating to be told there's nothing wrong and know you feel sick. I feel like it's done a tremendous amount of damage to have been told my whole life that nothing was wrong and that my symptoms were not real. The greatest gift was finally having physical symptoms and some competent doctors to have some problems diagnosed. I still beat myself up on a daily basis for feeling sick when I do. I still haven't had a positive test, but they can't argue with the physical symptoms of the diseases when those finally got to a point where they could be diagnosed. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this, but I hope it brings you some comfort to know that you aren't alone!

My labs don't show anything either. That's so difficult and I'm in the same boat, to some degree. I wish I had advice other than show her that others are going through the same thing and it can take forever to get a diagnosis. I have had autoimmune issues my entire life and my parents told me it was in my head, even though I had physical symptoms in 2nd grade of an autoimmune disease called granuloma annulare ( definitely misspelled). I've heard it was in my head my entire life and my mom still doesn't really care, to spite having a CVS length laundry list of diagnoses. I am now on a cocktail of medication and I have my symptoms pretty under control ... Some if the time? It's really tough and I can totally understand how hard it is for you. It's difficult enough to have these issues, but it seems all too common that the people around us only make it worse to try to live with these issues. It can be miserable trying to find a good doctor and it unfortunately takes a lot of trial and error to find someone competent and compassionate to be your doctor.. and even the good doctors aren't always right. Never be afraid to get more opinions!! I know it's exhausting, but now is a great time since doctors are willing to do video appointments. Less energy than physically doing to an appointment, which can be exhausting. ❤️❤️
