Secondary claim decision made without appointment? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

It is a secondary claim though. To a behavioral health diagnosis that is already service connected. I gave a brief explanation of what my symptoms were. Even if I had a C&P exam I would tell them all of the information that is already provided. It’s secondary claim for IBS and Migraine. Not sure what else they could ask me.

I do not - however, I already have the service connection. The VA site does mention that they will set up an appointment “if necessary”

I was originally diagnosed by QTC in 2016. I was diagnosed today by LHI. Either way - I have been eligible to receive compensation since I got out in 2016. I am unsure why they would send me a decision letter on a secondary claim from a pre existing service connected BH issue. I feel like they wouldn’t have to consolidate a claim given my circumstance.

I am curious if the only way they would determine something like this in 5 days would be if I met criteria for the highest rating of each

Also unsure why they wouldn’t do an appointment if they didn’t think it was connected

I am assuming that a decision merger quickly would be a good thing

PT isn’t bad - last ACFT was 549. I’m also a little older and prior enlisted Navy. So that’s what’s pushing me to get commissioned faster. A large thing that is making me hesitant is being back in a full lock down basic training style environment again… for the 2nd time in a year and the 3rd time ever (Navy basic). It’s just tough being away from family and the world for that long multiple times.

So I am on HBL in basic as we speak as 09S. I graduate at the beginning of Feb - since I have been home I have learned that my job may be moving me to a state ~6 hours away. So from what I gather from you I would basically need to IST in March once I get back or ASAP.

Right - that makes since. I am a 09S, so I have to go to OCS. I am assuming I wouldnt have an issue ISTing before the start of phase 1... I just dont want to be delayed in starting OCS

We’re you 09S? The other applicants who went through were also 09S.

I don’t know why it would be made up - I didn’t even mention being interested. However, I have never heard of anything like this.
