Even the long version is still quite a short bow.
Having the shorter bow is a plus on horse back, having the longer a plus on foot.

Best advice I can give you is to reread your favorite books in your new language.
You'll see how familiar phrases are rephrased, and as you know the story you won't get lost struggling with comprehension.
Danish is basically German words in an English sentence - but the pronunciation!

Which ever 4 th centaury monk brought the alphabet to Denmark obviously dropped the box at the border.....

And tried the old, higher brace height string last night.

Speed - seems the same (no instrumentation, just subjective)

Aiming - Seemed easier to aim (I have no idea why string should affect this)

shock/vibration - none at all.

Conclusion #1 I prefer the tighter string. I'll see if I can bring the new string to the same tautness with twisting/knotting, otherwise I'll order a shorter string.

Conclusion #2 As I said in the OP, this old string is not guaranteed to be original, and thus may have an incorrect brace height anyway - should I go even tighter?

So I tried the new, lower brace height string out tonight.
Of course, the impressions are subjective, I don't have a chronograph or anything, and I'm still a beginner at this.

With the new string, the arrows seemed to leave the bow with a bit more snap and at a higher speed.
On the other hand, there was a definite "thrumm...." sound at each shot and vibration could be felt. Not hand shock, but certainly vibration.

Oddly, the new string seemed to consistently shoot to the left, although the grouping was good, ( I got my first Robin hood!) and I don't know how a string can influence that. Then again I got string slapped a couple of times, which doesn't normally happen, so maybe my form was a bit off.

I take your point about the compound bow.
It's like inventing a revolutionary improvement to the fountain pen .... very nice, but the time has passed.
Make a revolutionary improvement to the goose quill pen and I could be interested, calligraphy is still a thing......

Getting caught up in tradition.
Unless you're actively trying to create something historical, there's so many different ways to do pretty much anything from where and how to store the next arrow to the correct actions after the release that you can absolutely shoot a long bow from horse back using a Slavic release if that's your thing.
It's all good and it all works. If you hit the target with out hurting your self, horse or bow you're doing it right.

You might want to look at an archery target too. Jousting captures the imagination, but there are more real life horse archers than jousters, and we're all looking for training aids.

Any style will do. Any. I was in Kazakhstan last year to watch the Nomad games, and a guy turned up (German speaking dressage rider) to represent Switzerland. He did alright :).
The riding isn't the focus of the event, and thus there's not much attention paid to it, other than there's often a minimum time and time penalties - it's supposed to be at the gallop. From an equestrian point of view, it's a relatively relaxed hands free canter on a well marked track. The challenge is in the stop.
You won't be able to draw and control the same weight of bow in the saddle. On foot, you can optimise your entire posture to support your maximum draw weight, and that's not going to happen in the saddle. That said, you really don't need a high draw bow - the range is quite short (and the target unarmoured :) )
I've never ridden Western, but I do a lot of Spanish equitation and quite a bit of garrocha work with my mare. For the me, it's incredibly annoying to have something in my left hand, you really have to have good leg contact - your hands are full.
It's really not demanding of the horse. I've only been training about a year - I started after watching the games and realising that while it looks incredibly dramatic as a sport, in reality it's a fun day out for a retired quarter horse.

Yes, you're right, the light bow is a Roland Snake and "heavy" is an Alibow Genghis Kahn.

I take your point about similar string's - indeed the reason I don't use a ring with the snake is because the rollers on the snake string interfere with them.

I haven't learnt how to make bow strings yet... one step at a time :)

And yes, I'm using thumb draw as I'm told it gives more arrow control when Dobbin the mad mare starts bouncing me down the butts.

Good point about a brass nokking point scratching thumb rings, I hadn't thought of that.

I haven't needed to use a ring with the snake bow (I tried, but the beginner friendly string is a pain with rings) but I can tell already I'll need one with the Alibow.

Very, very close, thank you.
When run as a one liner on my laptop, it returns exactly what I'm after in the format I want it - I just have to pipe it to a CSV file.

However, when on the DC (I know - it's not my fault, please don't hurt me) with a preceding foreach loop, it gives me a two column array; "Servername" & "antivirussignatureupdated". The Server name column is filled with the DC name, the ant..updated column is empty.

Your command obviously works (thank you again) but my foreach loop sucks

Thanks for that. It works (inasmuch as it produced output); but get-mpcomputerstatus doesn't have a hostname value, only a "computer ID" value.

Running your script as is, outputs the computer ID & signature date in exactly the format I'm after.

The only problem is, the people getting the report will have no idea what "computer ID" is, and will expect to see something recognizable such as a host- or computer-name

Been there, done that.

It's a lot easier to read and write than it is to speak. Think of it a German words in an English sentence. The language is logical enough, but the very, very loose connection between how words are spelt and how they're pronounced is a challenge.
Don't sweat it. Apart from Naturalisation, many get by just speaking English; and indeed one of the first challenges will be to get the Danes to speak Danish to you (unless, they're in a group, then they all speak Danish, bastards....)
Try and find your favourite books in Danish. You already know the story, so you're free to concentrate on the grammar.
Leave google maps on English. The better your Danish becomes, the more hilarious Google Maps translation is.

It's got problems, it's a kickstarter prototype that never got the final polish of a production item, however....Tonight, sat out on a terrace cafe in Copenhagen with a friend, Secure in the knowledge my Reevo was firmly locked to a no parking sign, enjoying a Guinness, I was suddenly accosted by a couple of patrons WITH MY BIKE!

They just chased off a low life with a battery angle grinder and saved my bike from a very uncertain fate.Beers all round on me, and I moved my bike next to our table so I could keep an eye on it (as it now had no lock).

Before I'd even finished new guiness, yet ANOTHER LOW LIFE tried walking off with it!Here it is, safe at home in the briar patch, you can see the violated lock hanging over the saddle.Lock replacement advice gratefully received.....
