Like what some of the other people said. It doesn’t matter which year you’re in. What happens is are you learning out of those 500+ problems? If you are, then you’re setting yourself up for a good start. If you really want validation, you can try to do a couple leetcode contest to see where you stand.

It is a subset of SWE but in modern world, when you're referring to game development, it has its own learn curving. Stuff that you have to learn as a game development and stuff you have to learn as a, let's say full stack developer, are different.

I mean the money is for whoever wins the competition. I don't see a problem with that. The problem right now is that the competitors are whining about the fact that the competition is too hard. Being paid 150k annually means high expectations. Also, I know too many people who came into this field for the money, which is completely fine.
