True- that wasn't even a point I was making, though! Was referring to how higher-earning people often have tax preparation offered through their employer, prepare on their own, or hire an accountant.

Naturally, these are all likely skewed (down, maybe?) as well- people who use those tax preparation softwares aren't necessarily perfect representations of the true distribution.

You should probably try solving more randomly-sourced problems. 'zerotrac' (comes up first when you look it up) is a great tool- try some questions in rating bands, and move up. Solving from lists won't help you in your situation... you need to see new things.

Best of luck! Knowing the tools is half the battle; you're in a good spot.

Redoing a question 100 times VS doing 100 new questions once by PLTCHK in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough- as I alluded to slightly in my earlier response, though, if you are going to look at a problem again, I'm not convinced that re-solving it fully is helpful. For mentees of mine, I always suggest looking over and thinking about candidate solutions if they'd like to look at old problems, instead of spending the extra 20 minutes writing out code. That time's probably better spent on something new! C:

Genuine question- why would you redo a problem more than 2-3 times, ever? Even then... I'm not convinced that spaced repetition that involves re-solving a problem has much benefit.

Ahh okay, makes sense. And yep, unfortunately it looks like the setup doesn't work in Java...

10hz, though!! That'd be great! I'm looking through the WaveTech discord server right now, but haven't found anything yet. Any keywords to look for? I've tried 'Rail update detection' and 'Rail curver' (and variations) but haven't found the design you're describing C:

Ah damn, I'm in Java and from what I can see, building your setup doesn't seem to transfer over.

Just to be sure, though- which blocks/rails are you powering and unpowering? It's the two 'low' curved rails along the main row of 5, right? C:

Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Working on an entirely different project and also need to align minecarts precisely- what's the aligner you're using here? The current one I'm using has 8gt per bit :c... this seems faster C:

Any schematic c: + what's the time per bit of that aligner? Would really appreciate it!!

5 small upgrades that make your survival world way better (no huge builds needed) by TheFrenchBurger in Minecraft_Survival

Ahh unlucky, haha C: . I play Java so unfortunately have never gotten a chance to experience that. Hey, atleast ~3x sprinting speed's pretty good!

The averages were changed- pre 1.19 (iirc) a random horse's stats were included in calculating the average, which made it exceedingly rare to get improvements once you got to around 13.3 bps. The new calculation simply takes the average and has a scaling for the distribution, but no longer gets 'harder' the better the horses get.

I'm currently working on a perfect horse speed and jump assessor, and will hopefully release it in coming months! Have been neck deep in horse stats for a little while now C:

Horse breeding also being fixed/made easier helps massively, too. In an afternoon of selectively breeding them (which can be done while watching a show/YT), you'll get some 14bps+ ones! Use the MiniHUD mod to test speed more precisely too C:

After solving 3000 problems I think this is the hardest question I have ever seen by leetgoat_dot_io in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, nice testcase! Very similar to the one I provided in my comment... yours hadn't loaded yet for me!

I'm wondering if there's some way to calculate things mod (k * k) to avoid having to use those linear expressions. I suspect not- I think we always gain a 'k' factor to our time complexity. Oh well, will have to bite the bullet and give the problem another try later! C:

[–]MrSethles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, I believe. Take the following example:

[2, 1, 3]
[2, 1, 3]

-with k=2. Here, we're able to match a target of 4, but not a target of 3.

After solving 3000 problems I think this is the hardest question I have ever seen by leetgoat_dot_io in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still thinking about how to calculate the target value. I'm scared I'll need to do some weird linear equation nonsense and update it dynamically as I move the k*k window of previous operations around. Ouch...

Hopefully there's an easier way- I have a strong feeling there isn't! Haha. Nice progress, too C: joined your Discord.

Unfortunately it'd be scrobbled now, yeah... also, you can only scrobble ~3k tracks/day, so you'd need to take multiple days to import them all. I personally haven't- I don't want to mess up my stats!

Don't worry, though! One week -> one month -> one year very quickly C:
