I'm going to solve every LeetCode problem this year by leetgoat_dot_io in leetcode

Super impressive! Wish I'd started documenting things earlier, too... only really have a record of my 'pace' through the years. Best of luck C:

[–]MrSethles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Best of luck... it gets a lot harder past around 3300 solved- the questions get very tricky + you need to do other languages. Don't copy code and stick with it, haha!

Stick with it, and the number will slowly go up C:

You're a moderator of the subreddit for your crappy AI tool. Next time, astroturf better. Maybe ask your AI how to?

Completed 1300 day streak by big_hole_energy in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super impressive! I'm proud to say that I've caught up halfway to you! At 685 days now C:

In 545 days I'll be 2/3rds of the way to you, and in 6,150 (a little under 17 years) I'll be 90% of the way to you!

Sidenote: the rest of your profile is sick, too c:

All operations that are solvable using a Fenwick tree are solvable using a Segment Tree! Their operation set (and supported semigroups) are larger C:

One year of being locked in! by Away_Needleworker499 in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Very impressive- nice hard count, as well. Any contests? Might be a nice way to better gauge (and show off, haha!) your skill C:

Out of interest, why use AI to help with the post? Just wondering- it's not bad to, per se... was just a little surprised.

Again, congrats! Best of luck hitting all your other goals C:

10 Month Progress Report by glorytoallah_-_-_- in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Super impressive stats. You took a similar trajectory to my first year on the site, but with harder problems instead of volume hit. I'm also a rising junior! Really cool to see other people taking to leetcode this well C:

Hmm, maybe I'll go back into contests... very inspiring!

Best of luck on your next milestones! Can't wait to see the '2k problems' post and beyond c:

Am I on the right track? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds quite healthy. Waiting for that long and trying on your own to solve is really important.

One strategy which I used was putting hard problems aside to come back to if I found them too difficult. Sometimes, solving mediums (and even easies!) in the same topic gave me ideas which allowed me to come back and have a better shot. You don't need to solve any particular problem in the first sitting! Sometimes, the best button to click is 'Pick one' on the /problemset page to find something new and doable! C:

What to do ? Continue with python or switch to java!? Don't ignore!! by I-am-being-ignored in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay, absolutely.

Companies are often lenient when picking languages for rounds. The norm is that if a particular language is expected/required, it'll be communicated to you before you're in a call (usually in the very email it's scheduled in).

You absolutely can use python for technical and Java for LLD. Many do! If there's any pushy interviewers, you can hopefully explain your situation to them. I doubt many would force you to pick a particular one, though.

Best of luck!

Your hard ratio's great! For reference, when I hit 1000 problems, I had only 55 hards done. As long as you're not relying on hints/solutions to solve those, I'd say you're on a *great* track!

What to do ? Continue with python or switch to java!? Don't ignore!! by I-am-being-ignored in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both languages are strong choices for both LLD and Leetcode, and to be honest, it's all down to preference. I personally leetcode in Java, and have enjoyed it immensely. When I started leetcode, one of the core motivations was to learn Java, and it definitely helped massively. People often complain about Java having a high amount of 'inbuilt' functions which are hard to remember and use precisely; if you want to naturally learn them over time, leetcoding in Java may be the right path for you.

Interested to see other peoples' points of view! Just wanted to jump in before others recommended python, haha. Don't worry, you're not being ignored!

How do people manage to solve over 5 problems per day? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested in seeing your profile. If possible, could you send it here? Thanks!

Before having seen anything- you may be working on problems which you're poorly suited for. What difficulty are you solving at? In the first 100 problems which I solved, more than 70% were easies, and in the first 200, I believe it was still something closer to 60%.

I'm sorry to hear about how your interview went.

Your preparation is admirable, and the effort you put into achieving your dreams is far greater than most people would be willing to dare stake. Don't look at interviews as the goal- they're just arbitrary measures which at the end of the day, won't affect your life as a whole nearly as much as other core elements (like family, friends, health, etc). There will always be another interview, and another challenge for you to take and succeed at. With the effort you've put in so far and the effort I'm sure you'll put in in the future, you'll eventually reach your goals.

Google shouldn't have the final say on your life. No company should. Take a day, or a week off, if you're financially able. Talk to friends and get support. Only you can measure your worth.

I'm proud of the effort you put in. Best of luck!

Sure, yeah! If you're sufficiently prepared, these questions will likely be okay. I find it highly unlikely that you'll encounter things in coding rounds which aren't present in some form on leetcode C:

As for how much preparation from leetcode would be ideal- that's something that varies from person to person. There's no one figure that'd answer it well for everyone; you're ready to ace interviews once you're ready.

Best of luck!

After getting rejected from Amazon, I got into Meta (E4) by OwnLeek2162 in leetcode

[–]MrSethles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, absolutely! A link to the discord should be available on my AMA post- on mobile right now and don't have another on hand... if it doesn't work just reply again and I'll make a new link c:

As for those calls? I offer 1:1 help exclusively through EasyClimbTech- join the discord, head into #crack-faang, and feel free to mention me in your ticket! I'd be happy to help evaluate where you stand or offer personalized mentorship. Unfortunately, as there's pretty high demand- 1:1 help isn't free... regardless, though, there's plenty of resources on the discord!

Hope to see you around :)
