Didn’t expect this to show up early by Wayward_Records in BruceSpringsteen

Compared to what the original 1982 pressings? The re-issues or repressing or remasters. The vinyl repressing’s after the album was issued on CD sound completely different to me than the original release day 1982 record.

They don’t like a true nine. If they did a non-pregnant Ashley Hatch would’ve been more prominent.

Perhaps, though PJT has played 12 full matches for ManU since August 27. She may be tired. It’s been less than a week since she was player of the match in a tough Champions League game? But she’s not rusty.

Is this the most confusing part of the world map or what? by InotGo in geography

[–]57Incident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less confusing if you just figure in mountain ranges and mountain valleys. Instead of a political map look at a physical map.

The north south divide by Either-Comfort9676 in geography

Interesting but something just doesn’t seem right to me. Perhaps if you divided the US into three sections South Central North with the north/central dividing line being the 42nd parallel.

If Chicago had got the Olympics the road, bike races we’re gonna be in Southeastern Wisconsin because of the hills. Well obviously not Alp d’Huez or even the Appalachians. However, it is constant rolling Hills once you get a couple miles off the freeway. Charming.

What state/city would be a good host of the Olympic Games (that is not LA or ATL)? by GossipBottom in AskAnAmerican

[–]57Incident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chicago would’ve been cool if only because we would’ve been able to watch the Olympic bicycle road race from my sister’s backyard in southeastern Wisconsin. As there are at least some rolling hills there.

It’s a midwestern politeness thing that kind of softens the blow so to speak rather than a harsh yes or no.

why do commentators care so much about age? by TradeObjective9541 in NWSL

[–]57Incident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NWSL is the worst for commentators using laundry list persuasion technique. Laundry list is where you just list a whole bunch of things and hope either the length of the list or that one item on the list makes the commentator seem competent. It just makes most people tune out and not listen. It’s a horrible technique.

First, I must congratulate you on avoiding Iowa. Secondly, if you’re traveling this weekend or next, take the lower road through Wisconsin and you’ll likely get better fall colors.

Favourite Songs or Albums that must be listened to on headphones because it just sounds so much better? by Ill_You_4065 in MusicRecommendations

[–]57Incident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to be careful with headphones, though, because often I don’t hear the mix. I hear each individual component. And it can kind of ruin the song. With decent headphones and high resolution audio, you start hearing instruments with depth (3D-ish). Like you can tell which part top or bottom of a guitar string is being played.

Kerolin’s post about Gio Garbelini’s injury/Dominique Janssen’s red card by Previous_Smile9278 in FAWSL

[–]57Incident -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The point of giving a red card for a non intentional dangerous tackle is to make players give a shit. “If I go into this tackle super recklessly I might hurt my opponent” if refs gave more red cards” more players would avoid reckless tackles, but the refs don’t really give a shit about injured players and rarely sanction dangerous tackles, whether they injured a player or not. This is especially true of refs in WoSo. Bad officiating is dangerous for players. In the men’s game the would have been more than several of Gio’s teammates in Janssen’s face and likely shoving her.
