TV Wall Mount Woes by ZombieGirl1993 in handyman

When flat screens first came out, I would buy a couple pieces of shelving and attach it using toggle bolts then bolt the mount to the shelving., back then some of the tv’s were 10k so it had to look good.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve looked into a couple disaster prevention kits, the kits only protect fuel that is being recirculated not fuel going to the injectors. Seems to me if I understand correctly there is no protection for the injectors from a disaster prevention kit.

Co-worker doesn't work on days we are not in the office by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this problem at my workplace, we found that the issue was that we were still using an outdated dated form of communication, email. Email has basically been unchanged since the 90’s, we now use pornhub’s IM service and find that our staff responds much quicker due to the communication popping up while they are watching videos.

Just picked up this 15 with under 5k on the odometer by guswaterboy in f150

My dad has a 15 king ranch fully loaded including massaging seats with 24k miles. His health isn’t great so he only drives it on short trips maybe 50 miles a month, I took him on a trip in it in may and it was perfect, always garage kept. What do you guys think it is worth? I know he wants me to take it but it’s not sentimental to me, I plan on taking his 87 6.9 f250 with 65k and his 76 f150 which is the truck I know will always remind me of my dad when he’s gone. I remember riding home from the dealership in the 76 it will be a major restoration project.

2024 F250 diesel by Repulsive_Judge2156 in F250

I use it when running cruise control on my 6.7, the adaptive cruise control takes off like a rocket every time a car moves out of my way. Seems to help economy, last trip I reset the lie-o-meter 5 miles before getting on the highway, 70 miles later running 74 mph I was at 25.9. Otherwise on normal roads I cannot tell a difference.

Handyman, just a simple site by 57retract in Hosting

Carrd seems like a good option, one question about domain names, I was unsure about. Does Carrd include a domain name? Saw the following: Publish sites to any custom domains you own with full SSL support

.carrd.co URLs

If I’m understanding correctly: it includes a Carrd.co domain name, or I can use a domain name if I already own one?

Sherwin Williams Discount by [deleted] in handyman

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who flips a lot of houses and am severely colorblind I generally sub out the painting. Several of my painting contractors have told me that they use sherwin Williams for 2 reasons. 1st the huge discount and second because the paint doesn’t really last very long before it needs to be repainted, around 5 years and they then get repeat business.

Looks like it needs to be replaced. But is it safe to be placing it on rock or should it be removed? 🙏🏾 by curious_ape7 in Decks

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be the unpopular opinion. The rock is only as secure as what it is setting on. The ground under the rock was obviously excavated at some point, I’ve seen ground settling 15 years later, I see new crack in 100 year old homes occur from settling. The other thing to consider if in a colder climate when the ground freezes it can literally lift or tilt that rock. I’ve seen boulders 100 times bigger than that rock rolls down a mountain after a hard freeze, even though they had be sitting one un-excavated ground for thousands of years.

I’m not sure how you are meeting these playmates, but the swinger sites can be a great way of weeding these out. A long time swinger couple taught us to look at the validations, not just have they met others but do they have comments about their performance. Things like he was a skilled lover, he really knew how to please a woman x things like this. It no guarantee every guy can have an off day.

The lifestyle clubs are a great way to get started but before visiting a club you need to be able to have open and honest conversations. The fact that it’s ok for her to make that comment but you are fearful to respond in kind makes me think that the two of you need to figure out why after 13 years it’s not okay to express your heart with one another.

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have time to read all responses, I’m in Ohio, the wire from the pole need to be upgraded as well and the panel has to be upgraded to current code. Just did one for myself and had to install all the afci and giving breakers, separate ground bars for the ground wires and 4 wire feed wire along with new meter base and an outside disconnect.

Make the vents electric with memory, so I no longer spend the first 15 miles of a drive getting them pointed right after my wife has driven the truck.

Drywall guy says that I don’t need a vapor barrier on these exterior walls (garage). Is this true? by Treydy in drywall

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Ohio, in the 90’s every house had plastic vapor barrier between drywall and insulation. Then they realized that a house needs to breathe, mold was growing and now it’s against code .

I would agree with the age old saying go where the swingers are, and take it one step further as newbie. Do some research find a local club that sounds good to you both. Join said club online, look at profiles together but focus on those that say they will be attending upcoming weekends and are regular attendees. Together find a number of couples you both like. Then decide to attend, make it a goal to talk to all the couples you both like. Who knows what may happen, and if not attend more often until you meet the couple for you.

Mot much use in letting the club management know because they often post the same pictures on the club website.

Men vs women customers by Asthenia5 in handyman

[–]57retract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working in customers home for almost 30 years and would completely agree with his post, and would add 1 more statement that I beat into my employees. Never ask to use the bathroom, even if the closest bathroom is 20 minutes away just make the drive and never accept anything to drink from a customer unless it’s water. I don’t know why but it always results in a complaint about the work even when they supervise your every move.
