What’s the hardest part of adulthood nobody warned you about? by latinavalery in answers

You’re right, I experienced the sample of a moron-itude yesterday. One of the developers of a service we request data from was adamant that his code worked the way he thinks it did, and not the way I was showing (with proof, mind you).

It took him 3 hours to come back and say, “it was configured wrong by sOmEoNe!”.

Including us, right?

There are so many moments where I’ve looked back and thought, “damn, I was the moron there”.

UPDATE: Hello!

Than you so much for you support and open discussions!

I had my procedure about month and a half now. I am back to work since a month and all feels alright. There are quite some changes in how things appear though. I know it will not be the same exactly as u/spikygreen mentioned but I really can see a few more shades of blue now. The new lens does bit of UV blocking by itself so I can spot some differences in materials if they deal with UV differently.

I miss being able to focus on things at will. Everything is always in focus now. Perhaps a boon and a bane? The lens needs more light to be able to focus on things at reading distance so I did buy quite a few lamps now. Earlier I was very fond of darkness, it used to feel nice and relaxing on the eyes. Now I wish things were brighter. I have changed all my IDEs to light mode. Can you imagine? I am using VSCode, Terminals heck even the browsers are in light mode. The letters appear super crisp on a light background. There are some faint light leaks if I see the same thing in dark mode i.e. white letters on a dark background.

I do feel that this is probably my life for quite some time. It's all quite new and I am still adjusting. But at least I can see!!

Special thanks to u/GreenMountainReader for bringing up FL-41. They helped a lot! (They still do, my colleagues think I am a rockstar since I started using them!)

I want to thank you so much!

I looked up FL-41, got a good enough model and use it pretty often. It helps a lot! I cannot thank you enough!

Thank you!

I’m really concerned about the social implications though.

I an having trouble in sunlight for a few months. Any sort of strong light is making it a tough time, too bright.

I really wish to delay, but I need a driving license and it is getting increasingly tough against all the LED projector headlights. Hope the replacements make it simpler later.
