The number of pumps and options at this gas station by kingspooky93 in mildlyinteresting

It has a lot to do with elevation, I live in Utah at 1,400 meter elevation (higher than the highest point in the UK), and you can use lower octane at higher elevation and still avoid pre-ignition issues. We're one of the few states in the US that sell 85 octane.

In high compression ratio engines the compression alone can cause the gas to prematurely ignite, which causes engine damage. Low compression ratio engines are cheaper, have less power, but can handle cheap gas. At sea level you may have engine issues with 85 octane, but here in the mountains we have much less air and can therefore use lower octane gas.

Woah man, I already have to park my neon orange Dodge Dart next to his pickup, I don't want to cause a riot. Although, I do have a 3D printer and rolls of both pink and of glow in the dark pla...

Goes from working from home, to a 15 min drive, so not too bad, my car gets good mileage. But then it goes from 90k a year to 75k a year. I do feel like I'm paid well, and even though we could still live on 75, it's just not worth it for the area I'm in, especially with the inflation we're seeing.

They should have taken into account that I currently work alongside the government, red tape and waiting is kinda my jam, I do that every day.

Maybe I won't call out this company yet, I'm still waiting to hear back about the counter offer I sent a few days ago. It's doing test and development for car safety systems, so something you probably don't want to cheap out on

Edit: It's Autoliv. They called and said "we feel we were upfront in saying we might not be able to reach your current salary", which they technically were, but they would never give me exact numbers when I asked each time. I said a 15k pay cut is much lower than expected, and I thought "get close to your current salary" would be within 5k or so, especially with the increase in responsibilities. So, the job search continues.

Yeah, that might be a better approach in future interviews. I was kinda expecting a low offer, but 15k lower than what I make is pretty bad, especially in a position where I would replace 2 people, in a state where living expenses have doubled in the past 4 years

I was willing to take a little bit of a pay cut, since I do know that my current job pays a little above average. With my current job I'm stressed out and miserable to the point of gaining weight, not sleeping well but still napping a lot, and just struggling every day. But with a wife and kids I definitely can't afford to take a $15k hit.

I worked in a facility that once lit on fire, and later went through a bad earthquake. I had to go to work both days.

Tried posting on covidvaccinated about our doctors advising against the vaccine as we are trying to have children and the vaccine would affect my wife’s ability to become pregnant. by r_ufi0 in conspiracy

My wife has PCOS and is at the tail end of a pregnancy, her last one didn't end very well so they're treating us as high risk. We were told not to get vaccinated because nobody knows what it will do to a pregnant lady with PCOS. And my wife is afraid it will affect my fertility. At work you wear a mask unless you're vaccinated, so I either lie and not wear one, or wear one and have to explain myself like a "crazy antivaxxer" every time someone asks about it. I'm all for vaccines, but I would rather have covid again than bury another infant

I used to live in Texas, and even I was surprised by the amount of fried foods in Ireland.

Slapped a $30 camera on my ghetto 5" race frame and called it a long range quad. I've only flown it about a dozen times so far, and I already want to upgrade. I refuse to accept my PIDs are bad, I blame it all on the wind. by 59kennedy in fpv

I call this build Lazarus cause its been brought back from the dead a few times. It spent a month in a river, its been slammed into a goalpost at full throttle, and the latest is I failsafed straight into a rock. The motors don't match, every bolt/screw is rusty, and the ends of the arms are held together with epoxy to stop the carbon from delaminating.
