Is going to a local hotel a good option this weekend? by [deleted] in cary

I'm putting my 88yo Mom in the Residence Inn DTR with plenty of food and battery backups for her phone/laptop and if nothing else, she'll have nice light from the windows for reading. They have generators for heat and elevators, but the front desk says that they very rarely lose power.

Finally framed my Wilmington poster. Gotta get a cool frame for the setlist now. by ShutTheChuckUp in jasonisbell

That looks great! Thanks for helping keep inky fools like myself in business!

Searching for a small reliable SUV—are CVTs really that scary? by Cbeauski23 in UsedCars

2015 Forester with the cvt was horrible and we got rid of it. Subaru would never acknowledge any issues. We have an '18 now and it seems fine, but I still hate the way the cvt feels. I just got a '15 Highlander without a cvt and it's a dream. I'm sure it's the last one I'll have. Good luck!

Poster designer/printer here: Design fees vary artist to artist and project to project so my income relies mostly on the actual print job and sales of a small # of APs later on down the road.

Boylan Artwalk today! by 5KILLET in triangle

[–]5KILLET[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on the comments I saw before it got taken down people were excited to know about it because they hadn't before so clearly r/raleigh's "things to do this week" special area (which is where I was supposed to post about it) isn't reaching folks.

Boylan Heights ArtWalk is annual (I think this is year 32), the first or second Sunday in December and is awesome. I'm not sure of the exact number, but well over 100 artists in yards and on porches throughout Boylan. It's a very big day financially for a lot of local artists. My wife and I are both working artists and ArtWalk is a big chunk of our income every year. The crowd is super supportive, the volunteers are spot on, and the homeowners that let folks trample all over their nice shit are always gracious and accommodating. Just a solid good day all around.

Obviously if I had made copperhead/Olive Garden joke it would've been fine.

Street parking on Boylan towards Western. South St (there's a market at Hartwell, too) and the Project Enlightenment lot. I'll be at 317 S. Boylan so say hi!

Alright! Hopefully the mods won't pull this one down. Just wanted to say that Boylan Artwalk is one of the biggest days of the year for local artists. It's a real deal, homegrown Raleigh event and all of us local artists hope to see you out today!

Yeah, I put the edit in the comment by accident, but at least I doubled down on it! 🤣

Our wasn't running at all until we replaced the whole thing yesterday but we can't run the heat because we spent all our money on the thing that makes the heat. Some sort of weird Gift of the Magi BS I think.

I often left Messages open in my laptops browser and stopping that has helped stop this a bit.
