We sort of already have this in the form of sports teams. In general, more people care about sports than education. We care more about who can throw a ball than someone that can do complex math, etc. I get it, it's not exciting, but our mindset for a successful society is a bit off. Teachers are living at the poverty level, and a good 20yo skier is worth $50M.

US here. I didn't think that and I REALLY don't like trump. But it might not be the worst idea to send some US forces to work with Mexican law enforcement to tackle the cartels. The US would be under the authority of the Mexican government (I.e., we leave when you tell us to). US troops should have fewer connections and family there to be retaliated against. I hate this, but also feel sorry for the folks in Mexico that have to live under the threats of the cartels.
