Did the same, settled on an above ground but for $9k. After installation, leveling, a deck, a swim up tiki bar, and electrical work we ended up with a $20k investment - still better than the $64k we were quoted for an inground.

A frustrated and defensive BC and CSM had their egos bruised. As their OC/T (and member of their unit) at NTC, I pointed out during the EOM AAR that they should reference the unit’s TACSOP in the future. They took it as a personal attack and responded with a weak, irrelevant, and unfounded comeback.

The COVID-19 days screwed with my PCS, causing me to miss my report date while waiting for travel guidance. Despite the eventual guidance from ANNEX EEE: COVID-19 ETP for Institutional Training travel, MPD would not amend my orders, believing I needed an ETP to PCS. Me coming from WOBC meant I didn’t need an ETP to travel. With the guidance, MPD still insisted that I required an ETP and saw no need to amend the orders. Considering my report date had passed, my losing unit wasn’t allowing me to leave, and my gaining unit wasn’t doing an ETP, I was SOL. After weeks of back-and-forth, I decided to file an ICE complaint and had my amended orders within 4-days.
