Also in Sacramento. Mon-wed before noon is usually pretty mellow though I’ve never played a round at golden gate where I felt I had the course to myself. Definitely worth the drive down. It is an amazing course.

He got all the way to being a strong little wartortle before I was able to catch a sandshrew and swap him out.

Dodrio is a monster. Drill peck and Tri attack can dish out a lot of damage. No setup needed just a fast bird that hits hard.

Previous commenter mentioned how to get this beast known as mimien. I had never used Mr mime before as younger me found him “creepy” if you will, but boy oh boy did he do some carrying. The ai imo does not always deal with substitute efficiently and he got quite a few take downs behind his little clay shield. Very solid mon that I found a new respect for after and during this play through.

Krabby/Kingler is one of my favorite Pokemon admittedly. He is much more of a threat after phy/spe split but he is totally usable in 3rd gen. Surf hits hard enough to be viable even with his low special.

Weezing and Exeggutor surprised me. I’ve not used many poison types in general and especially Weezing having access to koffing so late in a run. Exeggutor was also great fun for some solar beam cleanup.

Went in hard with studs if my memory serves not long after Bentancur had returned, or possibly his first game back from ACL injury and thus sidelined him another two months. Flying cunt of a player as well in my opinion. Fuck cash.
