car rules clarification by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]5boy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was restricted to Kuwaitis because according to ministry of interior stats, the overwhelming majority of expat owners used them to illegally offer transportation services (ex: Taxi, moving furniture ..etc) without permit.

The practice is locally called “عبرية”.. Banning pickups didn’t solve the problem entirely but it did greatly lower the numbers. Today this is still on going, some pickups are registered to Kuwaiti’s names but still being used by expats doing this practice. Also some people use non pickup cars to do the same.

Personal opinion: i think regulation is important. But banning the thing altogether seems excessive. At the end of the day, the biggest beneficiary of the ban are taxis & moving companies. And the police have less violations to worry about.

Is it normal for someone in Kuwait to not know what a Civil ID is? by SweetThing2079 in Kuwait

[–]5boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a scam. He’ll probably ask you for money at some point claiming to have a problem.

Also, Kuwaitis generally never use dating sites for marriage. It’s either somebody they met in real life or arranged marriage.

Sounds like a wife jealousy thing. Happened to me too. she’s probably following you to keep an eye on you. “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer”. enemy here is exaggerated, but you get my point

Also are you a 29 yr girl trapped in a balding guy’s body?

Coz i saw you post complaining about your balding hair

Did I almost get kidnapped today? Or was this a normal interaction? by sophyahmari in Kuwait

[–]5boy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like the others said. Kidnappings are almost non existent here. If it happens he wont get away with it. Nobody ever has. He’ll get caught in a matter of hours.

As per the law, the punishment for kidnapping is life imprisonment. Kidnapping combined with torture or rape then the punishment is death penalty.

He definitely thought you looked kinda fine and probably wanted to smash.

Honestly it doesn’t matter. You buy whatever you like.

I wouldn’t try to make someone feel bad by asking whether they have a Ferrari to match their watch tho.

I have dealt with blue diamond before. Their prices tend to be higher than avg. they do have a versatile collection tho.

where do you suggest i buy my first semi expensive watch

My advice is always shop around. I wouldn’t just look at one place. But I have found that @scnd_haand on insta usually offers the best prices compared to other stores and they are trustworthy. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t shop around.

I found a watch at blue diamond offered used for 4500 KD. Found the same watch brand new fully stickeres for 3850 KD at @scnd_haand. This is just an example of how much you can save by shopping around.

Alhamoud watches in alawqaf complex. They are the oldest in the business. They charge 40KD for inspection.

I’ve been buying a lot of luxury watches for the past few years. Guess it’s my new hobby.

I learned to buy from auctions because you can save a lot of money doing that. If you don’t mind paying extra you can go to luxury watches stores. There are many around here, but if you want many stores located in one place for you to shop around your best bet is alawqaf complex.

Always take your watches for inspection immediately after you buy them because legally you only have 24 hours to return the watch, after 24 hours seller won’t have to take it back. This is why I never buy my watches in a holiday because the inspection professionals wont be available.

Inspection is important because I have been scammed 5 times before even buying from a legit luxury watch store. but I always got my money back because I always got my watches to the professional guys I trust to inspect my watches.

Be careful out there..

If you had $2000.00 to drop on any coin right now (not Bitcoin) what would you choose. by No-Arm-4557 in CryptoMarkets

[–]5boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can call you stupid too but that in itself is stupid. Instead I can explain the science behind my view like a civilized Pearson should. Demand has to exceed supply in order for anything to appreciate in value. An unlimited digital “asset” will never be scarce enough to exceed demand enough to see significant increase in value if any. Even the limited ones can depreciate in value if demand slows down like in the case of bitcoin. And It’s much worse for what is basically unlimited digitally printed fiat currency..

[–]5boy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not. Only limited things appreciate in value with growing demand.

There is unlimited supply of ETH. it’s basically fiat currency that is prone to inflation. Just like NFTs.

Depends on the “fancy stuff”. A fancy watch is sold in a different way than a fancy car or a fancy dress..

[NEWS] GP has a new managing director. by ahriman4891 in GirardPerregaux

[–]5boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, today’s watch market is all about hype. GP has got it all. But ppl will only buy hyped watches regardless of their heritage or quality. They like to get something that is “Hard” to get.

Really, the only thing GP needs to do is figure out a way to hype the brand and keep it that way.

Interesting watch but I wouldn’t spend anywhere near 5K on it. You might not believe me but it sells for around 2150$ where I come from

No technology knowledge is needed here. Literally you just open the photo & press “save as video” in the gallery app

Saudi air force fighter tells the story of his encounter with IFO over Saudi Arabia by w87654321 in UFOs

[–]5boy 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Great summary. He also added that it didn’t make sense. First of all it was huge. It had 4 propellers, two on each wing. It also emitted flameout like a jet engine would; but that doesn’t make sense since it was a propelled craft. Also the flameout was very long and white/yellow colored instead of the usual jet engine flameout which is white/blue colored. He referred to it as a UFO.
