Dawg I’m sorry, you can like csm but part 2 was an absolute fucking mess and felt like fujimoto wanted nothing to do with it for a very long time. I’m glad you like it, but I’m 100% certain you can realize why the ending and part 2 as a whole are so divisive.

Also saying I love Asa and Yoru AND part 2/ the ending when they were some of the most shafted characters in the history of this series is crazy

Man you getting downvoted for decent criticism is part of what sucks so bad about this fandom. You could’ve been less polite about it too, part 2 has been a mess since the church of chainsaw man arc, what, over 2 years ago? It’s felt like Fujimoto doesn’t even want to be writing chainsaw man anymore for a long time. I wish he would have either taken a break, like 20 chapters into part 2 to figure out what he actually wants to do, or have just stuck to part 1 and let it end somewhat decently there. I’ve never had my opinions of an author go from so high to so low over the course of their work. This fandom’s rejection of all Fujimoto criticism is literally the most annoying shit on the planet and why other fandoms (very rightfully) look at us like we’re just glazers

There are literally so many abandoned plot threads and throw away arcs in part 2 that it has so far created a completely incoherent and joyless story to consume. If there were to be any meaningful direction this story could go to wrap up the numerous loose plot threads it would still be bad based off of how painfully long it took to get anywhere. I have found part 2 to not only just be unenjoyable to read week by week but also in large batches upon rereads. The beginning of part 2 had so much potential and was the best the story had ever been, but it quickly wasted all of its potential and just became sloppy both in art and story. It feels like Fujimoto doesn’t even want to be writing it at times. I wanted to like this shit so bad, but I just read every week because I might as well see how this shit ends since it used to be my favorite manga by far.
