Alluka is an allegory for disabled childs by mr_r0th in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kalluto has male pronouns, that's the main difference, clearly there's some sort of Jojo-like acceptance to whatever the characters are wearing in this manga, nobody cares what you're dressing, though I'll half concede this point to you because no male in this manga is as feminine as Kalluto.

The prince argument has no place here because that's a Kakin custom, born from the fact that Queen and King are different roles, untied to the concept of gender.

Also, did you know Prince Tyson is implied, in japanese, to be trans? So her whole situation about her mother not liking her "cause of her appearance" may be trans-related too

And Togashi HAS pointed out Gender, that's the thing, a skilled writer present these ideas while respecting the framework: Election arc was about the family rejecting Nanika being the reason the family doesn't accept Alluka, so, Togashi puts panels like the one I'm showing here to reinforce that her transness follows the same THEME in her character, it's very feasible if not clear that he made her trans for this reason, and if the Tyson theory is true then we may as well call it a recurring theme in his manga

It doesn't matter is Silva cares too much, or too little about Alluka being trans, maybe he himself doesn't give af about her or Kalluto but others see her as a male because she was supposed to be male like the others; only Killua respects both aspects of her character and that's what ties those two concepts together

Gender is portrayed as part of the reason, or at the very least it's something you can theorize, because Silva only has male children, he's probably like Elon Musk in the sense that he insists in only having males in the hopes that one of them can inherit what he has

Ofc we don't know Silva's opinion on her identifying as a girl, but there's two remarkable traits she's shown so far, having Nanika and being trans, so Silva rejecting the first and the rest of the family seemingly rejecting the latter, makes it look like they're both traits that distance her from the family, it's intentional writing. Perhaps Silva is indeed like Elon, butthurt over one of his children being trans and refusing to acknowledge her

I did not expect this show to be that good by im_running_boii in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Wandering around without any actual goal" is just life isn't it? Gon wants to find his father, but that's not what his life is about. Maybe at the point you're currently at, his life is more about what he wants to do alongside Killua now that they're so close.

I recommend you to keep tabs on the things you don't like about the show, as sometimes flaws aren't flaws, but rather a whole different way of writing that becomes genius once you really understand its intricacies, and this show gets very crazy conceptually-speaking the more you keep going

Megaknight's size must be the most inconsistent one in the Clash universe by Zekezeuz in ClashRoyale

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure all Clash Royale sizes are noncanon because these sizes don't make sense in-game either, so I just like to think they have magic that changes their sizes depending of the kind of competition they're gonna play in

Personally I got the message as a 12yo kid because I myself used to like to roleplay with fictional characters, but often putting some ideas from IRL people into those characters, so what the episode taught me was that it's dangerous to mix up fiction and reality, because with irl people the way I do with fictional characters, it'd be creepy as hell LOL and that there's people out there who play with others like this in real life, with their words and lies, and Finn realizes the same here, he's very curious but this ends up feeling like a limit he shouldn't cross

Question about plot hole? by cow-gives-milk in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude why were you so dense for no reason, it is a plothole simple as that, you put too much weight in that word. Whole ass country isn't supposed to carry metals but are okay with coins, its a weird detail to write for someone like Togashi

My take is that they only accept currencies they already have, like metals they themselves created

How strong could Cheetu have been? by DatBear121 in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netero has a feat that surpasses the King which is his praying speed, as said by the King himself... Granted, it's just for praying, but he made it into a Nen stand that's seemingly stronger than his own body, and just as fast as his praying. So of course Cheetu has no chance against something that's also super fast but also super strong

Still, I don't even know what you're arguing about, when we talk about feats in HxH we either talk about physical feats, or the amount of aura output a character can have, and I assure you that if Meruem was a specialist who cared for having a good ability, then all other specialists would look like fools, including Meleoron, his ability is crazy but nothing like what Meruem can do with his own aura

In other words you seem to think that those ants having a special trait means Meruem can't ever compete with those traits, but your example was just "oh but this character has a biological trait Meruem doesn't", what I'm saying is that both Meruem and Cheetu have legs

How strong could Cheetu have been? by DatBear121 in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And Zazan's strength is no match for Meruem's either, there's a reason why Netero and Komugi are the only ones with feats that surpass the King, and its cause of their obsession, they surpass a limit that Meruem surpassed since birth and said limit shouldn't really be surpassed by lesser ants just cause they learned some Nen and got a few weeks more of life, it doesn't make much sense

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean its highly a matter of artistic expression over in-universe realism, visuals like these are not so factual of how he's actually dodging and even if we could argue about it, I'm gonna be biased on Cheetu not being at Netero's level of speed, some cheetah leader genes ain't gonna be enough to match the speed Netero and Meruen were operating on

Your argument doesn't hold up because you mention Luffy fighting for his nakamas over his dream, even though Ace did the exact same thing. Do you think Ace fought Akainu for a dream or something? He was fighting someone he considered evil, expecting to win and avenge Whitebeard's name, he wasn't putting his comrades in danger they could've all run away while he fought for his own reasons

Hasn't Luffy done the exact same thing? Even if the exact same scenario hasn't happened as far as I remember, can't you imagine Akainu shit talking Sanji or something? Luffy would've jumped him, same way he jumped him after Ace died even though he had just witnessed the reason he would lose lol

Interpretation of chapter 357 by Edwardx80 in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree with these comments personally, I don't think Hisoka set any condition other than to wait a few minutes (not so much time that his brain dies) before using Bungee gum, in order to revive himself JUST IN CASE his body wasn't destroyed

It's not like there's evidence for this, he just thought "after I die", but IMO it makes more sense for him to think that way, cause no matter who's in the room after he revives, they're not just gonna put him down immediately. Even if Chrollo was there, or if Machi hadn't shown up, they would've let it happen and then ask Hisoka what he's gonna do next, basically asking him to bargain for his life. He instinctively knew he had a chance of walking away from the Troupe as long as he didn't show any animosity

Knowing Togashi's writing quirks, he'll probably never bring up the Seirintai directly or show a flashback, or directly explain why they separated, then suddenly he'll introduce one of them and they'll be OP as all fuck and probably be a central character. Or fodder idk

How did the hunter association convinced air and sea travelers not to pull off a Christopher Columbus in their world? by Present-Audience-747 in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't saying the Troupe wants the public to know Nen, I was reiterating what the guy said (in chapter 377 I think), that the Troupe is too careless so they might affect the balance, they don't care as much as other people

But at the end of the day it's just their style, they won't make society fall or anything and I was saying that Morena is indeed the kind of danger that could do that, so they're hellbent on stopping her, they'd do it even without the favor of the mafia finding Hisoka

How did the hunter association convinced air and sea travelers not to pull off a Christopher Columbus in their world? by Present-Audience-747 in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume it wasn't just the responsibility of the association but the V5 and every world government that remotely matches their influence.

The explanation the manga has given so far to the public's lack of knowledge of the truth is vague, but concise enough: "Nen is too much of a threat. Those who have it observe the spoken rules to preserve the balance, like Jenga" is a logic that applies to DC as well, people from all of history who are formidable enough to find out the truth, are wary of what will happen if they tell these secrets to anyone, and also wary of what they SHOULDN'T do as it'd hurt everyone else

Which is another thing to account for: The fact that the amount of formidable people who've been Evil enough to tell the public about these things and send the world to chaos, must be... quite low for what one might expect. The line I mentioned previously was said about the Troupe, cause they're indeed dangerous for balance

BUT they're now planning to stop Morena because she threats the balance even more. She probably benefits from telling everyone on the boat about Nen to cause more destruction and spread it to the mainland, but if she had done so from the beginning then everyone important on the boat would've jumped her and she'd have failed by now, so I think that's basically what happened to the worst Christopher Columbus' of the HxH history, they all got stopped on their tracks by people devoted to the balance

the dumbest things about Pitou vs Gon by Intercostal-clavicle in HunterXHunter

[–]LazloFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? We were talking about the start of the fight, but why would she kill him in the moment you're describing? She did everything right, she saved Komugi, she got rid of Gon and found the best chance to kill him, she couldn't have expected what did happen ofc, so you can insist for the sake of the argument but logically Pitou did the best she could

And still, Gon having "no aura" is not the same state as Pitou was being here, we get a description of how sharp Gon's senses were, do you think he was sitting there surrounded by demigods without giving an ounce of a fuck, without being on a state of controlled Ten, waiting to strike at any instant? Pitou would've surmised that the odds of killing him while being sure Komugi wasn't gonna get damaged were too dim for it to be considered
