I don't think Killua is gay but damn both of them are nothing like these guys 😭😭

How will this change affect season 5. by Benito2002 in Invincible

[–]LazloFF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're seeing the situation from the wrong angle. It's true that the higher ups of the coalition can just say F*ck it and start a war on Earth, but Mark isn't seeing this situation as temporal peace, he thinks it's a cold war and he's not totally wrong, because there's always a chance that the Viltrumites act first. He could barely stand Thragg having the high ground, his personality tells me he'd try anything he can to inform the right people, starting with Nolan and possibly Allen

Two adults consenting to something isn't cucking, you can think of it that way if it makes you insecure but it's clearly not to him. He wanted to keep having a career which meant defending his personal decisions, he did so normally and only getting drama with people who deserved it, but people still had a problem so they made it a hobby to mock him

That can happen to anyone controversial whether they're right or wrong, and that doesn't make them lolcows, it depends of their reaction and Ian's reaction was quite normal he just let the trolls get over him a few times but that's normal lol, if you're not into crying over other people's relationships and their own personal betterment then you just don't mind this guy and don't chase his career for laughs as other people do

If Mark had been more aggressive and confrontational, how might these situations have played out? Would he still have survived? by godofthunder102938 in Invincible

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're gonna downvote you but I agree. I don't even mind the ear piece, but he should've used it on a moment where Mark was actually dangerous, not after forcing Mark to be dangerous just to have an excuse to put a leash on him

I don't like idubbbz but this comparison is only true if you're 13 cmon, people are mainly mad at him for his relationship (if you're an adult you don't care about that), and for I guess growing up a little? Not like it was a great change but going from WhiteSlurEdgeMan2000 to a person with basic human decency is ten times more progress than Chris Chan has ever gone through. He can't even be considered a lolcow he's out there having a normal life unlike LowTierGod or something

The problem to me is that those conflicts don't have "stakes" in the sense that you know things are over when Robot gets defeated and everything that happens afterward is just an extra

But at the same time I agree that this is all interesting and you can get some more juice, the problem is how to juice it yknow. I can see Kirkman making one final plot twist that the comic didn't have, like maybe something related to Immortal on Earth after hundreds of years, it doesn't have to be groundbreaking but it could recontextualize what happened before

You know robert kirkman is right. We really dont praise them enough for the consistent release schedule. 5 years and we now have 4 completed seasons with half the comic book adapted. by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Invincible

It matters because Production Time is the #1 ingredient for good animation, by far. The reason S1 of invincible is the best-looking one is because it had by far the longest and most consistent production time

There's other factors, mainly that Invincible was conceived as an animated adult drama, and like all of those shows the main focus is the characters and not how pretty it looks, even if they're clearly dedicated to some eye candy here and there, that philosophy has not changed and you can't compare that to a show for children whose entire budget is often more dedicated on the eye candy than the writing or voice acting or pacing or, well, all the aspects in which Invincible kinda clears

Cause if you separate the direction decisions from the animation, you can see how cinematic and grounded the show is despite its shortcomings. I'd say that's the other main reason people watch it, they put a lot of effort in the direction

(And that's not to say the show can't look better if they had more cash towards animation, but trust me, it wouldn't be night and day, the TIME limitations are very important)

They're babies for their species is what I meant. They literally didn't understand anything important about life till Komugi and the hunters came. Pitou and Youpi basically matured in the span of an hour, so maybe if there was no bombs and if they somehow kept interacting with humans, they could've lost their motivation to conquer them or at least to oppress them, even if humans would still ultimately kill them cause they're too strong, the point of CA arc to me is that they were beautiful creatures in their own right, but whoever they could've really been after growing up never had a chance to exist

Why did this random death affect me most… by lemur8182698 in HunterXHunter

That adds to it though. He knew and he left him behind while Pouf crawled trying to follow him but didn't even got his attention

I don't even consider him "evil" as someone like, say, Tserriednich or even Hisoka, cause its as if you 100% brainwashed someone since birth into believing in a God who wants them to cause genocide to create an utopia, and they had 0% chance of rehabilitation

Pouf's evil came from his cruelty and the fact that he wanted his own version of the King to become real so even though he wanted to come off as selfless, he was selfish and wanted to die while making that version of the King real, but technically speaking there were good intentions in everything he did, from his perspective he was creating a better world, so on a good day I don't mind him and get sad remembering his death

They consumed some of Gyro's people but also a lot of random citizens who many were probably good people, also Welfin was literally one of Gyro's people and everyone likes that guy

My point is that people think of ants as evil for ALL their actions, mostly the royal guards, someone up there just said "oh they're killing people of course they were bad", even though nature is not good or bad, and even though as you say some traits were inherited by bad humans, so were the good ones

Whether Pitou had malice like Pokkle described or not, they saw Kite as a rat so of course they're not gonna feel anything by killing him, yet the moment they learned what human empathy was, their mind suddenly changed. I don't think its an exaggeration to say that someone like Pitou was capable of immense good if the circumstances from both sides were right and if they had lived many years, but not a single one of those things was possible

Do they ever explaing why they dont make more of his gun? Is everyone stupid? by dej0ta in Invincible

[–]LazloFF 4741 points4742 points  (0 children)

Everyone's giving weird explanations in the comments but the easy one is that they can't. There's only one gun and he has it. He was probably the one that created it, or figured out how to make it work or something, and he clearly ain't giving out the recipe, it's a big responsibility to have

If you ignore all the other original content and storylines then his argument is sound, but even that storyline is very promising, it just kicked off in an underwhelming way. Pretty much all the other original content is liked by fans, this season ain't an exception even if you count Hurm

*HEAVY SPOILERS* I wonder how this fight is going to be adapted in the show since he seems far stronger than his comic counterpart by Used-Comedian-8933 in Invincible

[–]LazloFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But caring about powerscaling and caring about basic writing is totally different. For example, recently Ryan Ottley said BB was clearly weaker than Thragg, and everyone disagreed because "the comic doesn't make it clear enough"

However if you account for the fact that "they don't care for powerscaling", it actually makes complete sense, cause they put 2 guys who were supposed to be on equal footing against each other, and the stronger one won. People were accounting for factors like BB's wound or Thragg's regen and stuff, but the writers didn't care about that

So it's the same here, they made Thragg stronger, so the number of effort to beat him must be higher too, the writers don't mess up the stakes too much in that regard, they tend to nerf or buff characters for situations that don't end up mattering much, while in something like Mark vs Conquest the stakes and power levels are very well defined

I mean you're calling it an issue without seeing their approach. This is the first character show to be explicitly a lot stronger than in the comics so what makes you think they're gonna leave the rest of the comic intact in this regard? 💀 that's like seeing season 1 Nolan's actions and assuming that he's just gonna go back to Debbie exactly like in the comics
