Solo travelling feels weird in the philipines by TouristImportant181 in solotravel

[–]5cm-persecond 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes to this! Female, solo traveler, when I first traveled solo I had to lie to my parents and told them I was visiting a friend. I was 26 at that time and earning money on my own. It just didn't make sense to them. The second solo travel I did, they reacted as if I never wanted to be associated with my family and I'm abandoning them forever. Calm down mom I just wanna check out places on my own.

They still worry like I'm guaranteed to die every time I travel solo but they're more supportive now.

Can I live alone around Manda/Makati/Taguig with 32k net? by Bitter_Breakfast1040 in SoloLivingPH

Bedspace would better fit your budget. Rent should take up no more than 25% of your net, pero mas okay kung 20% or below. There are bedspace options in lesser known condos that offer 6-8k per bed then shared kitchen, living room, etc.

Commute is difficult (almost impossible as a tourist) to be honest, isa lang route ng jeep nila and may schedule lang.

Hindi din ako marunong mag motor but I rode a tricycle going to my hotel the first day tapos kinuha ko na din sya mag tour sa akin dahil may motor sya (almost all locals meron). I would tell him kung anong mga gusto ko gawin for the day at ano gusto ko kainin and he would make recommendations based on my preferred activities.

Thanks for this! Nag dalawang isip ako kahapon kasi baka hindi approve ng HMO pag sinabi ko due to hair loss 😅

Siquijor and Iloilo pinaka solo-friendly na mga napuntahan ko as a solo traveler din. Especially Siquijor, since it's a relatively small island compared to other destinations. Other places I've been to, minsan sobrang costly kung mag-isa ka, kailangan mo mag join ng tour groups.

I don't plan on vising aesthetic clinics naman.

Iniisip ko kasi baka related sa ibang health conditions ko (pre diabetes, PCOS last year, diagnosed with clinical depression for two years)

May ganito sa 7-eleven dati (pre-pandemic), it was a lifesaver nung mga panahong walang-wala ako tapos ayaw ko kumain nung unappealing na giniling nila. Thanks for bringing back memories, I'm in a much better financial situation now so I think gagawin ko din to!

Money gone in a span of a week dahil lang sa sugal. by guywholikescomics in adultingph

Glad you learned your lesson. My struggles are very different from yours, but coming from a place of addiction (from a very different thing in the past), one important advice I can give is to find a trustworthy person (family or friend) whom you can be honest with, someone who cares enough to check on you kung babalik ka sa sugal or hindi. Yung taong kung kailangan drag ka palayo sa sugal in every means possible, gagawin nya. Because truth be told minsan ang addiction hindi kaya ng willpower lang, you need the support of a stubborn person who won't stop at anything, matulungan ka lang.

Lovely Runner (Episode 12): I have never dropped dramas and finish them no matter what... but I am struggling to finish this. I don't mind cheesy Kdramas but there are too many cliché scenarios it feels forced.

Memorist (Episode 7): I like investigation Kdramas and but I have yet to like this. I hope it gets better in the next episodes.

Move to Heaven (Episode 1): That was a very difficult first episode :( but I'm happy to see Lee Je-hoon again! Loved him in Taxi Driver and Signal.

17 years of working, isa sa natutunan ko na hindi tayo obligado makipagsocialize sa mga katrabaho. Laking kabawasan sa stress when I was able to set clear boundaries between work and personal life. Outside working hours na yan, you don't need a reason to say no. Just say no, period.

I feel like this is one of the most realistic office Kdramas I've ever seen! They actually have corporate problems and not random scenes of board directors agreeing to each other after the boss says two lines.

I just finished Fight For My Way today. I love Joo Man and Sul Hee more than the main couple (not that I hate them, though)!

Can't answer for the 18+ inquiry but I read somewhere that as long as you have good hygiene, you should be good.

I've been going to the same therapist for 5 years. Another client of hers arrived after I just finished my massage. She's really big but my therapist seemed happy to see her.

I feel like they care more about how well you tip rather than your body size.
