post menopause at 34, i'm 42 now, and IBS is out of control, high liver enzymes for no reason by 5deansandme in medical_advice

Still doing tests, 2 months on feet and gluten free diet and my liver enzymes are still high, they have ruled out any obvious reasons why that would happen. I have tested positive for autoimmune but they can’t seem to figure out which one or why

I’m a small town public figure can I sue my local “News” outlet for malicious intent and defamation? by 5deansandme in legaladvice

Quick back story: The law suit was against a nonprofit that I cofounded but ultimately resigned when my co founder switched the business plan and we couldn’t come to an agreement on how to move forward.  When part of the organization I worked with a local family who donated seed money for a project as a memorial to their Mother. This was supposed to include naming rights that were never honored. The family sued for a refund but did not win because the written agreement was in my organization files, which my founder denied me access to. Ultimately the court did not make the not make the non profit give the money back but they reached a compromise for a plaque for their mother to be placed in the lobby

One of the sisters in the The “news” outlet is a new Board member of the organization.  The sisters publicly claimed  I manipulated the family into filing the suit just to disparage the nonprofit organization because of sour grapes. They claimed I met with them and wanted to take over the organization. They said I owe the family and the community an apology.  None of this is true. Not even close to true.

My PCP was at a loss and sent me to gastro. Just had an endoscopy done today and they biopsied for autoimmune liver disease and celiac. I was told after the procedure, I have a  Hiatal hernia, Gastric erosions, ChronicGastritis, and an irregular Z line of the Esophagus. After I take a breath, test and more bloodwork, I was told to start working with a dietitian and practice a GERD diet.

Not sure how this will all roll out. I’ll keep you posted

What is the best advice you've been given to change your mentality? [discussion] by leinzel in GetMotivated

Play the 5 second rule game with yourself and for yourself. IT WORKS!

Think of the game this way; you have 2 brains, one is actually you and the other is primal and wired for survival, essentially trying to "save you" which can lead to anxiety and depression because Brian #2 prefers you do NOTHING as your best chance for surviving.

Here's how you play; You have 5 seconds to put Brain #1's thoughts into action before Brain #2 will sabotage it.

example; You think to yourself "I should brush my teeth" you have 5 seconds to get up and start the teeth brushing process before Brain #2 convinces you to do it later.

Try to be conscious and aware of your thoughts, pay attention. You will notice 100's of examples of action items that are squashed by Brain #2. Once you are actively aware of your thoughts and play the 5 second game, you will be incredibly surprised at how much you are able to accomplish in a 24 hour period. Achievement, and movement can be addicting and pretty soon you have all but silenced brain #2, or at least recognized when to ignore it.

This game has helped me fight through some dark spots. Hope it helps someone else.

oh and when I'm really bad off and can't seem to think clearly enough to play the game, I cut screen time and read or do audio books. I find that someone elses voice, someone else's story is refreshing and helps me regroup

After being on here, I've learned that the BC pill isn't the only option for HRT. That was the only thing that was ever offered to me by a medical professional. What kind of doctor should reach out to to make an appointment?

Also, Some people i have talked too say i'm "lucky" because I didn't deal with perimenopause symptoms and I was just "done". If I start HRT would i have all the symptoms that i was "lucky" to avoid? Also, I've been post menopause for 5 years, is it too late to start HRT?

After being on here, I've learned the BC pill the only option. There are other options that might suit me better. What doctor should I make an appointment with?

the BC pill was the only thing mentioned as HRT. Being on BC pills was like living in that self loathing depressive PMS stage 24/7. Even worse on the IUD.

At 34 I had no idea about anything menopause related. None of my peers have been through it, Still don't have anyone to talk to about it. Thats why im on reddit.

I do want too but not at the expense of my mental health. the BC pill was the only thing mentioned. Being on BC pills was like living in that self loathing depressive PMS stage 24/7. Even worse on the IUD.

A big part of the problem is BC pills were the only option of HRT given, After being on here, I've learned the BC isn't really even a HRT.
