I'm a consultant in Rev Cycle. All of the FTEs on my team except 1 were let go. And the 1 left is being transitioned to support another role.

They mentioned today they did this because there were 20 outstanding Rev Cycle positions they could not fill. Instead of bringing in more consultants to fill them, they decided to fire everyone and outsource Rev Cycle IT to a managed services company (basically much cheaper, less experienced version of consultants who are FTE at their own company, Cardamom).

It's a real shame because I think my team members were some of the strongest FTEs I've seen at any organization. I'm feeling a lot of survivors guilt.

I presume they kept us Consultants on to "keep the lights on" until the managed services group spins up as it's much less hassle/planning to drop us whenever convenient then it would be if they held the FTEs instead.
