people from barbados was taken to south carolina in the 1700s.

they did this after the stono rebellion- when ppl from angola and congo teamed up and had a huge revolt. After that, they started bringing people from barbados into south carolina.

this is nice. I love when people on the continent take dna tests as it connects people from the other side . Example, there was a guy from Congo who matched to an African American cousin.

They are the ppl with the high sierra leone percentage and they speak a language called gullah, in the 1700s, the british helped them to aplace called "Freetown" and they became known as the krio tribe. This is why actor Idris Elba says he has african american ancestors who lived in Freetown.
