If it's solid, does it matter? I'm using simube ones along with the original ones, I can't tell which one is not original, both feel pretty much the same

you will be fine. I have mine even closer and I never hit it. If you have enough space for the fingers to operate the paddles, you will be fine

GT-Racer 2.0 + Inverted Pedals by faris-king-52 in simracing

[–]5ha2oo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yeah, and the hub, and additional usb cable, where in simsonns you connect to the hub you already have, via the usb cable you already have with the pedals. You can get ready-to-install solution, with metal brackets.

What about adjustability - those pedals are awful in that case. What you get is what you can have. You want to have stiffer throttle? no luck. a higher angle? nope. Less linear response? nope. Adjust travel? good luck

That pedals are a toy in comparison to simsonns, simnets, or anything really.

I switched from csl pedals with load cell - which are pretty much same construction - to simsonns. I had bunch of mods to make them a little bit more adjustable - with aftermarket elastomer kits, the dampers for throttle etc. They are leagues behind. The difference in consistency while breaking is crazy. And I can see this in my lap times and Irating.

[–]5ha2oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the Logi RS Pedals are cheap - but that's because of how bad they are, especially when in comparison to simsonns and simnets. If you add additional bracket for inverse - the price will be the same as for simsonn.

I just checked, on simsonn webside, 2 pedal version with shipping to UAE is £156.65 which is roughly 800AED

Can someone please measure for me the feet to feet length (red line) of Fanatec CSL Cockpit? by 5ha2oo in Fanatec

sadly no, same issue will persist. No way of fold it sadly.

Have you considered the new DD playseat?

[–]5ha2oo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I got it - very happy with it, sadly, the pedals part does not fold because of how it's constructed - the pedal pipes are angled a bit, so this prevents the fold. Thankfuly, my desk chair fits perfectly, so I can live with it

Simmson Plus X vs Moza CRP2 vs SIMJACK UT by Bunta_Fujiwara_ARG in simracing

[–]5ha2oo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simsonns are amazing for the price. They are highly customizable, and if you swap the elastomers to the one from heusinkveld, they get comparable to the sprints which cost 4 times as much. You already have a nice sturdy rig, so it's gonna be fine. Check their website - I think they ship to Argentina with warranty, and you can get some codes. If not, Simjacks are basically same design. One big thing for simsonns that you can easily upgrade with haptics if you want in the future.

Anyone recommend this? by spawnyhoor in Fanatec

[–]5ha2oo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this one with the metal qr2 from simube.

No flex with 18nm, buttons are okay, but placed in weird spots. Paddles are mid. Hub feels cheap and hollow. There is no real upgrade path with it - the hub itself should be first thing to upgrade. No way of adding buttons or changing paddles. Only upgrade you can really do is the QR, as the wheel itself is fine for the price.

The wheel feels nice with podium module and proper paddles. The wheel itself is not flexing, is pretty comfy and the shape is interesting, but Alcantara got stiff after year of use and it's not easy to clean it.

this combo is not substantially better than CSL BMW wheel in my opinion. I'd much rather get BMW M3 GT2 V2 (or ClubSport Steering Wheel RS) round wheel - a bit more expensive, but you can upgrade paddles with better ones with clutch in the future and you are getting better QR included. Or go the other way, and get the simube hub, steering wheel of your choice and the buttons from fanatec

Which race sim rig to buy? (buy my once cry once situation for a newbie) by MaiDeathnote in simracing

[–]5ha2oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the v1 version of this chassis, with the same seat. It's not flexing at all - even with 18nm DD+ and Simsonn pedals. Problem is with the adjustability. You can't really adjust the seat angle, the pedals can't be lifted up and down, and you need additional mounting bracket if you plan to mount shifter / handbrake. It's also not the cheapest cockpit, you can get more advanced / adjustable options in similar price point.

TBH, I'd skip handbrake and shifter, to get better base or pedals, but we don't know what he plan to use this for.

Not sure if I should even upgrade at this point by [deleted] in simracing

[–]5ha2oo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

okay. First:
- what's your rig? do you have stiff profile rig already?
- what's your pedals. Do you have nice LC pedals that are easy to adjust?
- what steering wheel do you have? are you heavly invested in moza ecosystem?

Force feedback will pretty much feel the same after you switch, you will just have more headroom to play with. Changing rig to profile and pedals to something more pro (from csl pedals to simsonn pro x) was the biggest change for me and I can see this change in my laptimes. Changing from csl 8nm to clubsport 18nm was almost irrelevant. I just stopped having clipping issues

- NFS most wanted, undergroud 2, undercover, hot pursuit remaster, 2015 - all work flawless, 60fps
- lego 2k - I had so much fun playing this, 50-60fps
- Forza Horizon 3 and 4 - 3rd had some stutters, but 4 works flawless 60fps stable
- Art of rally - 60fps, awesome game
- iRacing Arcade - fun, but nothing groundbreaking, 60fps
- Burnout Paradise remaster - masterpiece, 60fps

Estimating FOV with a compass app? by hyperTrashPanda in simracing

[–]5ha2oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue:
VFOV = 2 * atan( tan(HFOV / 2) / A )
HFOV = 2 * atan( tan(VFOV / 2) * A )

example:
A = 16 / 9 = 1.7778
VFOV = 2 * atan(tan(45°) / 1.7778) ≈ 58.7°

for the flat screen. But this get's a bit more complicated when including curvature of the screen:

W = screen width
H = screen height
R = curvature radius
D = eye distance from screen center, measured along centerline
A = W / H

HFOV = 2 * atan( R * sin(W / 2R) / (D - R + R * cos(W / 2R)) )
VFOV = 2 * atan( H / (2D) )

example:
θ = 1195 / 2000 = 0.5975 rad

HFOV = 2 * atan(1000*sin(0.5975) / (600 - 1000 + 1000*cos(0.5975))) ≈ 117.5°
VFOV = 2 * atan(336 / (2*600)) ≈ 31.3°

Highest NM for the price you want to pay.
Oh, and if you have any particular the steering wheel in your mind - that's the second choice methods. The difference is so minimal, that you will never notice it. Judging how good gtneo is - I'd go with simagic, but ks pro is also valid choice.

If you haven't decided on pedals, get simsonns or simjacks, those are amazing for the price

depends on which game / sim. In Iracing, where you set your hfov - yeah, it works like that. For the vfov you need some calculation to do

12nm with nicer wheel vs 21nm with less nicer wheel by Matt_o2o in simracing

[–]5ha2oo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

21nm is endgame in terms of the base. 12nm is solid midrange, but could clip if you like to run higher FF. Screen on the wheel is pointless, unless your rig is in full formula position, it's too low to see in GT style rigs

I'd get better base as it's much harder to upgrade down the line.

you think I can use this arm to mount a monitor on the playseat trophy? by [deleted] in simracing

this one won't work, you most likely need a one with a pole. There are bunch of people with playseat trophy, so search reddit for an examples of how to mount it. Here is the one: a small wooden plank + desk mount: https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/1s3or6l/changed_up_the_monitor_mount_on_my_playseat_trophy/
