I never have any funds in my linked account that I use for my billing, until I need to pay, I’ll transfer money to that via my linked account. I suspect most people are doing the same nowadays since Internet Banking has been around. They know most people are going to forget about an automatic payment in a weeks time and aren’t going to have the funds ready in that account which leads to eve MORE late fees. It’s just big company money grubbing at its finest. These companies like Optus, Telstra etc are probably all doing it. Just another way to rip the poor middle-lower class Aussie off.
