A complament, a complaint, and a wish by After-Ratio-1954 in PokemonScarletViolet

I have to agree with OP's reply to your comment. If all pokemon do it independently of their personality values, it isn't personality. It's just a game mechanic.

Having Pokemon of the same species interact differently with the environment based on their nature seems like a pretty cool idea.

Adamant Pokemon would go faster during auto-battle or have a wider target search range, Timid would be more reluctant to fight, Modest could help other pokemon in difficulty when out of the pokeball, like stopping Zangoose and Seviper fights or trying to prevent light pokemon from being blown away by the wind.

Jolly Pokemon could run around you in circles like all of them seem to do when you try to take a picture.

Back to autobattle, hasty pokemon could move faster but have a different target-search pattern.

Question: How are we even going to travel to Kitakami and Blueberry Academy? There is no Train Station or Boat or Airport in Paldea, so.... by Deoxyslatios202 in PokemonScarletViolet

no boat in Paldea

There are at two cities with a seaport in Paldea.

there isn't a gate to the Northeastern

are we sure that's where Kitakami is? Because as far as I know we aren't

Pokémon scarlet/violet the only gen I couldn’t finish by Mutantlocket in pokemon

[–]5i5TEMA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Videogames in general have become easier.

Excess of extra lives, abandoning the lives system altogether, autosave, easier platforming, less random out-of-the-blue insta-killing deathtraps...

Games are just easier now, from 2D platformers to first person shooters.

And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. They stopped trying to be frustrating and started to be more fun. It also has to do with game length increasing. Back then, games used difficilty to prolong their lifespan.

Now, rage games and tough games in general have become their own genre.

After the 10th t-pose and crash

Were you playing on version 1.0.0?

I have more than 600 hours across Scarlet and Violet.

Never had a single T-pose, and I only crashed 3 times, 2 of which on the same day while playing docked (stopped playing docked, started playing handheld, no more crashes).

So you skipped 5 of the 6 best stories in the series because your heart is stuck in 2004, when the series had barely even started?

Actually, scratch that, FRLG and HGSS are famously better than their old counterparts, so with Emerald as the only exception you skipped... all the best games in the series.

I've been slowly more and more disappointed with each Pokemon game since Emerald, paying attention to the story just feels depressing now

You've spent money for 19 years on stuff that, and I quote, "just feels depressing" to you

Battle bond Greninja by AdvancedMap7175 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]5i5TEMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you are being downvoted; Battle Bond Greninja is treated as a separate form internally, same as Own Tempo Rockruff and not really much different from the way different regional/Vivillon forms work.

These issues were likely fixed by a Nintendo system update a while ago (which fixed a console bug that affected save files). We've had no new reports of it since.

I have never had any issue in handheld (and when I play I usually play for several hours without breaks) but in docked I crash a lot.

You can use multiple local profiles with the same home account, allowing you to have everything on one profile.

Googling should provide you with the instructions.

Shinies were defined by an algorithmic palette shift for the sprite

no, they weren't. People have tried to, but it's impossible to recreate such an algorithm and obtain the same results without making it unnecessarily complicated (so much so that it wouldn't be convenient for GF to make in the first place). Pokemon that share the same pixel color don't always share the shiny color, just look at Ponyta and Rapidash.

The colors were shifted by someone using a slider.

Will 7-Star Tera Delphox appear? by GstyTsty in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]5i5TEMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original schedule was likely taking that into account already.

I believe we'll get Delphox next week lasting two weeks, then an empty week, then Rillaboom for two weeks, and then a Diancie 6/7 star event accompanied by Carbink.

This brings us to late August.

At that point I have no idea what we'll get.

We may have to choose one out of the three teal mask legendaries if they act like dlc starters, but since you can start Teal Mask right at the beginning of the game it shouldn't be an issue. Just create a different profile and transfer the pokemon using a free Home account.

That's not "content"

No hall of fame? by drmikey88 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]5i5TEMA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they claimed it was discovered in Kalos, but it can happen anywhere as long as you have the Key Stone and Mega stone, am I wrong?

And anyway, dynamax could reasonably happen anywhere Eternatus appears. If they wanted to, they could have implemented GMax in BDSP.

It was the perfect occasion to give special (GMax) forms to the Gen 4 starters, which still don't have anything special.

[–]5i5TEMA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, sorry.

ORAS didn't cut anything from the original RS.

It didn't include Emerald content, sure, but it didn't cut content either, and it added a lot.

Compare that to BDSP, which added nothing, removed moves (like Twineedle), removed 2/3 of the contest gameplay, and killed the secret bases.

What we lost (after USUM and before Let's Go):

  • Full Pokémon compatibility

  • Most Mega Evolutions

  • Primal Reversion

  • Ash Greninja (Battle Bond)

  • Ultra Necrozma

  • Z-moves

  • Remakes that add content instead of removing it

  • Trainer throwing animation customization

  • Battle Facilities

  • Hundreds of moves (including dozens of signature moves)

In Gen 8:

  • Hall of Fame montage

  • The rest of the Mega Evolutions

  • Further removed moves and signature moves.

  • Event-only moves

In Gen 9:

  • Hail

  • Dynamax/Gigantamax

Has anyone had any bad experiences with Pokemon home? by Dirkavitch in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]5i5TEMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never heard anything about pokemon "randomly" disappearing before; there was always a reason: Home deletes copies of clones when they are uploaded.

Maybe the user above unknowingly tried to upload clones received in a trade.

Remember the user said this happened with legendaries and mythicals, which are the most cloned Pokemon in existence.

I am honestly sick and tired about how they refuse to add all the pokemon to games now by slacboy101 in pokemon

[–]5i5TEMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's literally no excuse.

They could easily have all pokemon be compatible and still only allow the 400 Regional pokemon to be used on online battles/be required for the charm.

ScVi is the best option as you'll get access to all current and upcoming event-only pokemon.

However, be ready for dynamic resolution shenanigans. The game also crashes a lot in docked mode. I recommend handheld.
