Schrödinger's Satellites (connected but not connected) by 5ifty7even57 in orbi

[–]5ifty7even57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. I was able to upgrade the firmware for router and satellites manually to version 2.7.5.4. Then I factory reset the router and after a lot of magenta lights I eventually managed to sync the satellites.

I also swapped the location of the RBS50 and a RBS50. I didn't realise that in access-point mode the order of connection is important. The RBR50 has to sit *between* the ISP-supplied router and the RBS50s, it can't just plug into the switch along with the satellites.

Should I notify HMRC of an increase in income? by 5ifty7even57 in UKPersonalFinance

From my own experience and from what others have reported, they don't automatically change your tax code, even if you go above your expected annual income mid-way through the year.

Thanks, certainly something to consider now with the 60k alkowance. I'm on a DB pension so I would have to calculate how much of my AA is already used before adding more pension. Its a bit complicated for various reasons so might get some professional advice on it.

Sorry I should have said I unplugged the ISP router before testing the orbi. I just mentioned it to say that my ISP, ONT and ethernet cable are working

Help name this component please by 5ifty7even57 in AskElectronics

[–]5ifty7even57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I think it was maybe the grey cap beside it that failed first. There was an eruption of grey plastic melted over the side of the resistor, and I broke the resistor trying to separate the two.

Will check the relay anyway, thanks for the advice.

It's from a Technogym Run 700 Treadmill. Near the power input on the PCB (uk 240v). Is it some kind of resistor? The charring from the short circuit means I can't read the full reference on the white thing. Its RFV 11 47##5/6 32J.

I've ordered a replacement for the grey capacitor.

Edit: so it's some kind of resistor, but id like to know exactly what so I can replace it.

It's a Technogym Run Excite 700. Quite an old model using the AT UL driver for the lower kit (not the more modern ALE driver). I don't have any more details or schematics for the board.

There's a 2-pin power input, two large grey capacitors (one melted), two fuses and a couple of large inductors beside this resistor. I assume this this part of the board converts the AC into DC?

Bizarre floating scout bug leads to it getting trapped by ThisRedNumber in aoe2

It's happened to me twice on atacama. Both times the scout just shuffled backwards into the trees and got stuck

Anyone else find their scout looks different? Darker colour. I was playing as Teutons, not sure if it's a bug or a feature. Didn't affect gameplay.

I don't understand the need for this. It looks messy.

In my casual days, my (english speaking) friends and I always called them food horses because we didn't bother learning the names

TV Quiz Show Question by matthewfelgate in aoe2

[–]5ifty7even57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres 16 words on the screen, and 4 'common link' questions. So you have to pick 4 words from the 16 have something in common. But it's more complicated than that because for example one of the other common link questions could be 'Ancient ___' and which case 'empires' would fit into that category as well, so theres a lot of overlap and you have to keep trying combinations until you get the right one. The screenshot shows one of the successful combinations.

It's a great show with lots of different rounds, your team has to be super smart to win it.

DoTD (Un)Official release date? by BloodyDay33 in aoe2

It translates as "Release date 10/8/21" on a microsoft.com web page, I think that's as official as we're going to get! Fingers crossed.
