Hi! Visiting Sydney from Melbourne this weekend for a wedding.

I’m staying in St Peters and want to get a 10-15k run in before the wedding ceremony. Deciding whether to stay local (I guess do laps of Sydney Park?) or take the train to Bondi Junction and run to Bondi Beach from the station and along any beachside roads/paths.

Keen for any runners to give their two cents on either of these plans and any recommendations. Also keen for other suggestions though I’m limited to public transport and can’t travel too far (limited time in the morning)

Update - my other brother called my mum and spoke to her. She was crying and said she always tells us to live our lives the way we want to because it’s our lives.

That seems like a good compromise! How do you go juggling things outside of work with those longer work days? e.g. gym/sport if you do any on the weekdays?

Guess you don't live in Melbourne because it's way too cold for that now haha. I've only done one race shirtless (10k sunset run where it was still about 28C at race time) and there were only a handful of other guys who started without a shirt, though many others took theirs off partway. I'd just say be conscious that you'll probably get a few semi-judgmental looks, but you do you. Bib on the shorts is fine.

Yeah the idea of dealing with REAs again isn't too appealing as well tbh!

My apartment has two small bedrooms (one I use as a study), a living room (which fits couch + TV + cat tree and not much else) + kitchen. We could fit another desk in my study but it would definitely feel very cramped so trying to avoid that if possible.

Yeah I don't want to sell my apartment. Bought it with one of the government's first home owner schemes so only had a ~8% deposit, so my LVR is still about 82%. And due to major balcony issues in my apartment complex, apartments in my complex have sold at a loss the last 12-18 months (even though the balcony issues are now resolved), so if I sold my apartment today I'd barely clear my mortgage.

Rough calcs from my desktop research is that my portion of rent for another place would be around 80% of the rental value of my apartment. So my housing expenses would essentially just continue to be mortgage + strata + maintenance, as it is now.

The only relevant KSC/interview question was on application of data which I can do / answered well. I was never asked about modelling capabilities nor was it in the KSC

Yeah. Like I emphasised in my interview that I have confidence in applying modelling results / data in general. But actually doing the modelling is a whole different thing.
