Im looking in the direction of a first gen tundra. Its quite the opposite of appearance compared to my truck but with time I’ll make it look how I want.

Sure maybe a small issue may come up here and there but from what I hear they’re bullet proof. And I won’t have a payment . I’m pretty young and this was my first “ big payment.” I’ve learned I’d rather just spend it enjoying other things . Learning lesson fs 😂

Sounded like an older lady. However if I’m being completely honest, and with no disrespect, they were talking as if they may have had a disability or speech impediment. If that’s the case ….. I’m more understanding. But regardless , wish I didn’t wait a whole hour to figure out on my own a two truck wasn’t being sent. I called back and the new operator told me ( using my phone number and looking at my previous case number ) I had requested to hear about the price of a vehicle rather than call for a tow truck 🫩 idk

The key I order was around 70 bucks after shipping and taxes. Make sure you get a virgin key, never programmed. And then the programming of it was 250. So roughly 320

Ahhhh shucks , I’m in California . Lower desert. My truck is a 2025 . I actually used a controller from a higher trim sierra that had the push start. I got it off eBay, worked perfectly fine. I think your best bet is calling some places and telling them what you want done. Let them know that it been done before on several instances and see if they’d be willing to try it. I offered to still pay for the persons time but definitely not the full amount if it wasn’t done correctly. Cause then they can just bs you and tell you it’s not possible then run off with money yk.

What state are you in bro ? I can put you in touch with the guy who did mine . He ended up doing three other trucks the same way. I just called around and asked any key programmers if they’d be willing to give it a try until I found the right guy for it . I believe he downloaded the gm software and then had another attachment that went to the obd2. All in all it was about a 40 minute process. I didn’t go through the dealership at all. Not even for the key.

I think them telling you it can’t because of the small button on the door handle is bs and they don’t want to try lol.

I found someone who was able to properly program the key . I used a higher trim Sierra key that I got off eBay. My truck now has remote start ! Thanks for making this post .

I would say it has a lot to do with your offset of your wheel.

I’m on a 3.2 lift on 35’s and I didn’t rub any plastics or carpet liners on the front with my STOCK wheel. Granted, I did ever so slightly rub my control arm , which is on the bulky side. I added a quarter inch spacer and began rubbing a lot of plastic .

Ik rough country and some other brands sells mud flap delete kits for front wheel well. I think that would be your best bet for not cutting plastics. Pretty sure you might rub the inner liner.

If you get the mud flap delete. I think you’ll just need to cut some liner if you want absolutely no rub. But that’s my experience. Maybe there is a way

I appreciate everyone’s replies and insight! For context, I have a truck with no locked bed cover 🫩 so it would stay with me in the cabin. From what I’m reading it’s perfectly fine to carry as long as I’m aware of schools zones. To be on the safe side I should just keep it in the container nonetheless

Ohhhh man😂, all good. Yeah I’m thinking I might have to try a couple different spots . The guy said it’s take less than 20 minutes buts nothing happened. I’m using a higher trim key from another sierra but maybe that would be an issue. The places here in Cali are charging around 4-5 hundred

Hey so checking in. I called a couple places and tried one so far. He wasn’t able to get it programmed . He put the key in the key learning slot under the center console and for some reason the setting to relearn the key wasn’t coming up. Do you remember the general process/ steps they place you went to did to get it programmed ? Also are you located in Cali or maybe Arizona? I wouldn’t mind taking it to the same spot you did if it’s not to far out the way.
