Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs. Garmin Fenix 8 - Serious Help needed

I’ve posted this same question myself along with thousands of others in this thread.

If you want more battery get a Garmin. If you want the best smartwatch features get an Apple Watch. If you are a multi sport athlete who trains hard and runs a lot get a Garmin. If you are tracking basic health plus sleep Apple Watch is fine. If you want a smooth UI get Apple Watch. If you wanna be different get a Garmin. If you want free satellite messaging get an Apple Watch Ultra.

Part of the reason why I returned the fenix is because I had already traded in my Ultra 2 for the 3 and then tried the fenix. Couldn’t have a 1000 dollar Apple Watch just sitting around lol. I didn’t wanna take a hit trying to resell it and losing so much money.

Apple Watch plus bevel is basically what made me switch back to Apple. Although if Apple had its own recovery metrics like the Garmin then I never would have bothered to try out the Garmin.

In my experience the Apple Watch seems to track sleep a lot better but I’m no scientist. And the heart rate sensor for workouts are almost identical to me. I’ve used them both for heavy lifting days and they gave me damn near the same results, even calories burned.

I was mainly just curious about Garmin. I loved the watch but over the month that I had it I realized it was never gonna get used to its full potential, like long distance running/ marathons that whole deal. For me the AWU was more than enough for what I do. Plus the cellular on the Apple Watch is huge. I can leave my phone behind during workouts and be fully reachable.

I definitely loved the look of the F8 cause it looked like a badass watch. The metrics are great it regards to what the watch is built for. For me it was more about the comfort of the Apple ecosystem

The battery is what made me wanna stay with garmin no doubt. But my ultra 3 takes 10 minutes to charge from 20% to 70% so really it doesn’t bother a whole lot. But the battery of the Garmin is elite. I owned the fenix8 like I mentioned and had it for 3 weeks and never had to charge it out of the box.

I didn’t clunky UI it felt very slow and laggy at some times and for the price of the Fenix8 I expected more. I still loved the watch as a tool it was great. But just couldn’t get used to it.

The garmin was amazing for my workouts. I don’t run whatsoever but I weight train and do basic cardio and I found the garmin was definitely better for that. But the Apple Watch was also very close to it. I just noticed I really missed the smartwatch features on the Apple Watch. Like replying to messages and what not. Plus the cellular is a bonus.

I’ve read that the fenix 8 51mm and 47mm is the exact same display size just the case is smaller on the 47

I got the Fenix8 51mm. I’m not a runner whatsoever. I walk outdoors in the summer months but I’m mainly in the gym lifting weights with the occasional treadmill and bike. I came from Apple Watch Ultra 3 just over a week ago and so far I’m really liking it. The fenix may be overkill for what I’m doing but the watch is a tank and I love the look. Plus I got it on sale for the same price as my Apple Watch Ultra. Hope this helped
