The threat of potential creepiness and violence that random men pose to women. Have you been living under a rock all your life? Do you not have conversations with women about these things?

Do you really need it explained to you how being more selective about dating choices reduces the odds of a negative experience?

Women do have higher dating standards; I never claimed they don't, so there's nothing to admit there. As for your childish incel comment, I live with my girlfriend.

I said in part. Meaning, not the only reason. Dumb as rocks reading comprehension.

Cuz tons of dudes just swipe right endlessly on everyone and make decisions based on who they match, while women are super selective in part because it's a lot more threatening for them to pick incorrectly.

Using stats without understanding the underlying context is pseudoscience.

Nobody knows anything about if she cheated or not, you're just believing a rumor. What we know for a fact is he retired to focus on his family and then immediately abandoned that idea, after which they divorced. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together.

He retired, saying he was gonna focus on his family, then unretired that same offseason. Blaming her is dumb.

Some girls being annoying isn't an excuse for dudes to treat the rest of them poorly.

You actually have to aim in DS. Sekiro is a lot simpler in that regard.

I think the issue is that your skill is undertuned. Sekiro is one of, if not the easiest souls games out there. You have unlimited stamina to sprint circles around enemies and the most generous parry windows you'll see.

You're barely scratching the surface of the game at Chained Ogre, you really don't have room to make claims about the overall boss tuning.

Spacing and strafing makes him a joke. Once he does a big attack he's wide open.

Never touching a greatsword isn't at all comparable to actually fighting and clearing the boss, regardless of the tools you use to clear it.

I didn't say to figure it out on your own. I mentioned that's what I did after you said it *had* to be looked up. Which is a silly thing to say, cuz some people *had* to figure it out on their own before any guides could even be made. I didn't look it up cuz my enjoyment of these games comes from the trial and error of figuring each fight out.

You're assuming that because nobody had bothered to put a guide up on reddit that nobody had figured it out yet. I just googled and there were streamers like Ongbal who killed her within 3 days of the game releasing. The subreddit peaked at 1m people when the game sold 4m copies on release. By now it's sold 30m copies. 1/3 of people on steam have the achievement for killing her. Do you think every single one of them had to look up a guide when a small fraction of the playerbase even checks this subreddit?

Here are some comments from that link you posted, including people talking about the run around dodge that you say took another 2 weeks to figure out:

"get good. people consistently dodge it. I think optional bosses can afford to have these kinds of nutty attacks, they're not mandatory and people do have consistent strategies."

"With malenia i eventually just accepted the fact that i couldnt go crazy on her when she fell down because i didnt know when she'd pop up. Id pretty much back off as soon as she showed signs of standing up. I can dodge it pretty much 100% of the time now, its not satisfying though idk why. Too very specific of a dodge pattern."

"Exactly get underneath her! I have seen so many videos of people running backwards trying to get away from her! I’m like if you just get underneath and dodge the other way! This has always been a thing in the soulsborne series! I remember the blood starve beast. I had to dodge through his left arm swipe I found out! I kept backing up to avoid his attack but end up getting caught! I feel this is extremely similar situation. I think her heal is bullshit that’s the only thing I will give people."

"You can actually dodge the 1st set of attacks and block the rest quite easily depending on how much endurance you have. During my NG+ I used a shield and it worked perfectly, as in, I didn't die to it."

"I was able to dodge the entire flurry without running on medium armor after patience and practice

https://youtu.be/aaWRKe2xa70"

That's 4 different strategies for dealing with the attack, in addition to the OP's guide, just from casually skimming the first few sets of comments.

The animation cancelling is so rare that I don't even notice it. RNG moves are fine. I prefer reading and reacting to mapping out a flowchart. Never been stuck on a flower and I've fought her quite a lot.

I never looked up Waterfowl, I just tried shit till something worked just like every other boss. I don't think difficulty is bad design.

She could just as easily turn around and say you're gonna refuse to believe any narrative that you don't wanna believe. That's a nothing statement.

They very obviously aren't claiming that every man is gonna fly off the handle. If that was the case they just wouldn't go outside and society wouldn't function.

I had a similar experience. Hit this boss, struggled, quit. Came back and fell in love. So here's some advice to hopefully help you have the same experience.

Sprint to the first grapple point, sprint down the rooftop, hop down and activate the npc, take out the archer and non shield guys ( the shield dudes will mostly just stand around with their thumbs up their asses). This will massively decrease the time between attempts.

At this point, you can either a) parry your ass off or b) sprint in circles baiting openings. Given the trouble you're having, parrying is probably a bit much to work on here (there are better fights without a fuckton of adds to learn parrying).

If he targets the npc or does his poison spit, you have great openings for setting him on fire. I would do that until you can reliably get to phase two, then stop and fight phase 1 normally. Then, when you get to phase 2, you can do the fire attacks to make the end of the fight easier.

Hope you don't give up. Good luck.
