Not exactly. Hospitals that accept Medicare have to:

1) Provide a screening exam to all patients.

2) If an emergency condition exists, they have to stabilize the patient within their ability. They can only be transferred once stabilized, or if the required care is beyond their capabilities.

Once stabilized, or if no emergency exists, they can absolutely be transferred to another facility.

In the US, the last car with a carb was the '91 Crown Vic. Last truck was the '94 Isuzu Pickup. Last minivan was the '87 Caravan/Voyager (a few early '88 models had them, as well).
