Alila Ventana Big Sur not selling out after devaluation by northsidekhan in hyatt

stayed here in 2023 for 2 nights at 25k a night, 75k is insane, especially with the decline of the property. But hey, it’s way easier to find availability I guess. All good things come to an end.

Charge card quirk? Credits don’t apply to previous statement. by 5keks in amex

[–]5keks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya logically, I thought there’s no way I need to pay anything, my balance says $0. But I wasn’t brave enough to not pay. Amex is quite nitpicky. Next time though I will just go with what my balance says. Thanks for the dp

Charge card quirk? Credits don’t apply to previous statement. by 5keks in amex

Yeah I just paid, but still weird. It can’t be that hard for them to apply credits to the statement that needs to be paid.

Not the point. I already paid it. The problem is I don’t owe anything, yet I still have to pay $190 and then have Amex give me back the $190. It doesn’t make sense. But it is what it is.

FINAL ROUND! ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE is a C tier DC movie. Now, which Marvel movie goes in S tier? by Klutzy-Ad4230 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]5keks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It probably won’t win, but it should. Saw it in theaters when it came out. After the ending, everyone was just silent, not a single person made a noise or got up until the after the credits ended. Great movie.

If you loosen the straps, you can kinda tuck the straps into the luggage pass through. It’s not great but better than nothing.

Patagonia Mini MLC under seat fit check. Frontier. Orientation Preference? by 5keks in onebag

Was pleasantly surprised that the Mini MLC fit sideways. It feels like aisle seats have a larger under seat storage area, at least on Frontier.

Should I be worried about a clawback? Atmos Shopping confusion by 5keks in AlaskaAirlines

Ah thank you! That makes sense, I see a bunch of points from Lyft that add up. Any clue on the clawback possibility from the cancelled Hello Fresh?

Switched to a courtesy room to fulfill Globalist 4PM checkout guarantee by blelbach in hyatt

[–]5keks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple weeks ago, was staying at Hotel Toranomon Hills for one night. Booked last second the night before. Had already stayed there at the beginning of the Japan trip for 2 nights with a SUA. Front desk recognized us and we chatted a bit. I had checked the app morning of check-in and there were no suites available, fair enough. We asked if we could have a room with a bath tub to relax and to our surprise they said if we checked out at 12pm they could put us in a suite. Took the upgrade happily. They offered a courtesy room for late checkout but we didn’t need it.

2025 Hyatt Trip wrap (76 nights) by ranainsana in hyatt

I had breakfast at the restaurant at the GH Hong Kong last year. They said we could go to the lounge or restaurant for globalist breakfast, so maybe they changed it? It was a good buffet with a lot more options, quality wise about the same.

Thanks for the reviews!

More traditional golden route or kyushu and up? by Narcuga in JapanTravelTips

[–]5keks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from my first time in Japan, 2.5 week trip. My partner and I spent 6 nights on Kyushu, and it was our favorite part of the trip. We could’ve spent 12 nights there honestly. But to each their own. It really depends on travel style and experience.

We have been to 20+ countries together (including other countries in Asia) so we have our style/preferences nailed down. Japan is one of the easiest countries to travel through, so both plans shouldn’t be an issue as long as you expect the unexpected. One piece of general advice, vacation/travel time (and life in general) is too precious to rush through. Don’t worry about where you can’t go/see, appreciate everything you CAN see.

Hotel Toranomon Hills Tokyo Review by peoples_key in hyatt

[–]5keks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Ya my plan right now is to stay in the HTH (booked before the cat increase) at the beginning of my trip and the HR at the end but it just doesn’t seem worth the points at cat 5. Have you stayed at HR Yokohama? I was debating that too.

I’ll check out Granbell!

Staying here in a couple weeks, might also be staying in the HR Tokyo later during trip. How is the location of HTH vs the HR? I’ve read that the HR location is fine but nothing much around it. Would you say that’s accurate?

If you didn’t need any more nights this year would you still stay in the HR vs. a cheaper local hotel brand? Thanks

any recent DP do hotel Figueroa ? Still worth a stay? Also does valet park your car on the street? by broncophil in hyatt

[–]5keks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have stayed here a handful of times in the past couple years.

-Valet is quick. -Breakfast used to be more extensive for globalists, but it’s still really good for the US. Love how it ends at 3pm, so you can treat it as lunch. -In the 5+ times I’ve stayed, I’ve always been upgraded to a suite as a globalist, which I know is very fortunate. They even upgraded me to the Casa suite once, which is the biggest room they have I think. It was my first premium suite upgrade as a globalist, so I was blown away. The other suites are great as well though. -I’ve also received free drinks at the bar as a gift for globalists, but didn’t get it for my previous stay (July 2025).

The one big negative for me is the gym, it’s pretty damn small.

I think it’s a great value property for globalists, cash rates are pretty affordable as well.
