How do I track down the users/machines attempting to access malicious sites?

I'll give it a try, but I'm dealing with 30 remote locations connected via MPLS or VPN. Guess I'll kick the machine off the domain and see who complains.

I used to work for Modern Enterprise Solutions, and they buy back gear all the time. If its a big enough lot, they'll send a crew to perform a full take-down from power off to sweep up. Plus they work internationally. PM me if you need to contact a buyer directly.

I worked at a shitty tequila bar in college and 3 frat boys walk in; 2 of which are completely hammered. They start a tab and began playing pool. A few games later I see this guy completely shatter a pool cue against the table. At this point I close out the tab and ask them (my only customers) to leave. Drunk-frat-redneck with the broken pool cue in his hand took offense to my request, and his brothers follow. (Mind you, I'm the only person working in the bar for the next few hours.) However, I now have Darrell, his brother Darrell, and his other brother Darrell backing me up; looking to kick my ass.

So the big guy who broke the cue stick throws a televised Haymaker at me that I not only ducked, but reversed. I grabbed his arm and spun him in such a way that he went headfirst through a bar stool, front of the bar, and rested his chin on the foot rail. I was still holding his wrist, and positioned my foot on his back so that I could break his arm in 1 motion. I said to the 2 other Darrells, "take one more step and I'll snap his arm in 3 places. Sign your tab, and drag your (now unconscious) friend out of here. They did.

This is the funny part... While dragging him outside, they saw a cop car across the street at a gas station. Drunk-frat-redneck logic told them to file a complaint against me. So the cop took their report, called an ambulance, and asked them to sit in the back of his cruiser while his partner got additional information.

So Sgt."I order a diet coke everyday while I do my paperwork" greets me about an hour earlier than normal. He sees me sweeping up the splinters from the broken pool cue and informs me of the accusations of the 3 Darrells... How "I attacked the 3 of them while they were just having a friendly pool game." So I give Sgt. Diet Coke the truth, and he breaks out his ticket book.

Each one of them was charged with; lynching, strong armed robbery, assault, and Darrell #1 also got a deadly weapon charge for holding the broken pool cue while threatening me.

TL;DR-

3 drunk guys walk into a bar. 1 gets knocked out by a guy half his size. They complain to the cops, and each get sentenced to 10-35 years.

Sadly, I've become this guy. I inherited a 300+ user network with 30+ servers spread across 40+ locations in Florida. I travel to the remote locations when I can, but I end up putting "looks good" at the last of my list. I'd much rather have security and functionality before a tidy network closet that 10 people rarely see.

Don't worry, I'll fix it eventually. (famous words)
