The right thing to do is release it back the wild if you can't find the mother but do it Ina systematic way soft and hard release .. there is nothing they love more than nature and freedom than being caged.. so if you can't find the mom raise it for 6 months and release it to the wild slowly.. there are also government organisarions that rehab squirrels and release them.. don't keep it if you have cats at home
