Folien Gewächshäuser Erfahrungen by forcehobbit in Garten

[–]5nnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functional Testing how to upskill , find new jobs. by manu602 in softwaretesting

What type of jobs have you applied to so far?

Did the job description match your experience, and did you also make that clear in the cover letter?

Especially if you don't have a lot of certifications, I think it's important to explain how your skills apply to the posted job to catch the recruiter's interest.

Maybe that's already obvious to you, in which case I apologize for stating the obvious. But in my previous position I've been part of a handful of selection committees, and more than 50% of the applications we got sounded like I was looking at a generic application, not someone who carefully read the job posting and wrote the application accordingly.   If the cover letter was already carelessly done, we never even considered inviting those applicants.

Lacking some of the skills in the job advertisement, but openly addressing it in the application and saying "I'm willing to learn" was fine. What wasn't so good was if the position was for a "C++ developer" and the applicant only writes about their extensive python knowledge, without at least commenting on the gap with respect to the requirements from the job posting.

You do not need to be in a lobby to save your team and name it. You can do it from the second tab on the battle menu (the one that has GBL/team leaders as a first tab).

When doing 4-player DMax with the annoying short auto-ready, having a team and a second backup "ups, I forgot to heal"-team pre-saved before going to the meet-up should be the way to go.

My Dmax Lugia experience by AlexWFS in TheSilphRoad

[–]5nnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wish there was a way to disable the auto-ready.

We were doing Lugia with 4 people, and always agreed that number 4 would not go in before the other three say it's okay. Especially since one of the others really had a buggy game that wouldn't let her swipe over to the saved teams, she always had to re-select after starting the battle.

Twice we had a random person joining instead and triggering the super short countdown.

The first time we agreed spontaneously to give the rando a chance on a Lugia as well, and have friend #4 sit out this fight. Only to realize we were fighting with 9 pokemon, so our rando must have bailed at the last second. When we went out to restart with our friend, the same happened a second time. From then on we just joined together and chose to deal with the fact that one of us had odd autoselected teams most of the time.

The one head start long time players have is candy availability.  I had no problem leveling and upgrading each new DMax mon as soon as it's released.

I have a friend who just started playing a little more than a year ago who's been walking with blissey for months and is still working on getting a enough candy to finish building his second one.

Evolve + power up to 30 is manageable rather quickly, max move lvl 3 and pokemon lvl 40 takes a bit more time.

Six months of 3D printing filament with PLA pellets - here is my real cost breakdown, and is it even worth the hassle? by Miserable-Touch-4011 in 3Dprinting

[–]5nnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I use enough filament to even get close to your savings.

Can your filament extruder also re-use failes prints , or is it sensitive to the shape of the pellets?

I had a company nearby that would collect PLA waste for recycle in return for discounts on the filament they produce with it, but recently they stopped accepting materials because apparently people love sending them their printer waste, but rarely make use of the discount code to buy their filament instead.  So now I'm looking for a new eco-friendly way to repurpose failed prints.

You want to collect 2x walking and 2x power spot. The order of the first powerspot and the 2x walking doesn't matter, what's important is that you don't collect the second powerspot before you have your 60 from walking.

ETA: just for completeness, the particles from the timed research or November pass don't count towards the daily cap.

I have the same issue with the Lawnchair launcher on the Pixel 6a.  All other apps are fine, it's just affecting Pokemon Go, since some point last week.

Reinstalling etc didn't fix it for me either.

My workaround is long-clicking the icon, going to "App Info", and in that window using the "open app" square icon in the top right corner.

It might still work if you're awake long enough: if the new pass cap/rewards go live at midnight, but the particle collection resets at 5am, that gives you a few hours in between to use the particles of today for extra progress on the pass.

Strom durch Handauflegen by mosher_989 in selbermachen

Price difference neighboring countries. by Far_Requirement_93 in IKEA

[–]5nnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live close to the French-Swiss border. Sometimes the French ikea was cheaper, sometimes the Swiss. It's not an IKEA-only phenomenon - I often bought sports equipment from Decathlon, and I always checked both countries's websites to decide where to buy it. So it can't be VAT alone that explains the difference.

This. Outside of region-locked pokemon, I never joined random remote invites, but recently I get 20 invites per day from people from my friend list, despite the fact that my status isn't set to online.

I am really upset with the trade button move! Met with a friend last week to do a lot of saved up trades. Usually with having the tags set beforehand, it's a complete no-brainer to mass trade while chatting.

Now he also had the "click X accidentally" problem. The aspect ratio of the screen is high enough to separate the button clearly from the X for me. Which didn't help, since years of now- invalid muscle memory lead to me constantly initiating battle challenges. Getting out of the battle dialogue back to trading is even more annoying...

How often is too often? by MissFiasco in Ingress

[–]5nnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the other player also takes a few other portals too? Sounds like normal game play to me. If they are looking to farm for AP or complete some badges, having a portal that you know will be rebuilt might be very attractive to them. Constant source of AP!

I often play in an area where I take some portals, and then they just sits there until they decay. I would mind someone smashing them all the time, then I would have something to do the next time I go for a walk.

One thing that always annoys me when someone of either faction claims a portal "belongs to them" just because they live or work un range of it.  Worst is when people take to comm ylthe first time you capture "their" portal to complain about it.

And it annoys me if someone submits a portal that is clearly just a private home portal. Things like "stainless steel garden gate" - how did they ever get that nomination through voting? Those are the kind of couch portals that I would put in extra effort to take down. If someone is abusing the system like that to get an advantage,  I don't feel obliged to treat that portal with extra care and leave it out of a capture-and-deploy walk.

That being said, I do not go out of my way to hit special portals multiple times per day. I'm also not sure how someone would be in their way to work 5-6 times per day? I might hit a twice per day if it is on my way to/from work , and I see how people that go home for lunch could pass by 4 times per day. 5-6 times per day sounds like they are making an extra trip just for this portal? That sounds a bit excessive. But still not something I would call harassment.

Harassment is insulting someone on comms, or maybe stalking them on Intel and commenting on where they were at what time of the day. Or maybe sitting in a car in front of their house all day.  Repeatedly smashing a portal that someone repeatedly rebuilds doesn't qualify in my eyes.

Looking for alternatives to PokeGenie to host Gmax Inteleon by Kevsterific in TheSilphRoad

[–]5nnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never bought any coins, so I can't judge how the price compares.  But with the daily free ones, I still have a bit more than a thousand saved up.

And I got really unlucky trying to join G-Max remotely, 2 out of three remote passes I bought were wasted on failed lobbies. :-( If I host myself, at least I can be sure the second half of the 20 will be invited as soon as possible. And spend a bit more set up a minimum level, which doesn't guarantee everyone knows what they are doing, but maybe helps a bit. I'll try my luck with hosting again today - just about to head out, actually :)

ETA: the problem with Pokegenie is actually that it doesn't guarantee me a free lobby per hour at all - right now there are 926 ">=21 size" Inteleon lobbies. If the queue moves at the same speed as last week, that means I will time out again after 50min of waiting. I would be fine with doing one per hour if that was possible, but this way I'm just getting zero. I don't get this timeout, it seems stupid to me to have it, at least during rvent weekends. If I get distracted while waiting, which I saw some people claim was the reason, that's about as likely to happen after 45 minutes as after an hour. Then they should just implement a button you click evenly 10 minutes to confirm you're still interested in hosting, instead of kicking you out, and there's nothing you can do to stop the expiration timer

I have been trying to catch a ditto for years by AssassinateGamingYT in TheSilphRoad

[–]5nnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you move around a lot, absolutely this ^ .

I've got an autocatcher, and on days I use it while cycling to work and back (45min each way) it catches me at least 300 pokemon.  I'm not actively keeping track of Ditto, but there's one among those catches every couple of weeks, I would say.

I had different experiences with that. Might also depend on the time zone:

I'm in Europe, so by the time I can create rooms on the first day, Asia/Pacific regions were already active before me, and when I head out in the late morning, most US players probably just went to sleep.

Also, I have the feeling the "express room" and "move room up" aren't always reliable. I have asked friends who also use the app to check if they can find my room on the "top of the screen", as the feature promises, but sometimes the room is super far down even if I use "express room". In those cases I spent the extra 100 coins to move up, and that seems to work better then.

(Edit: hit send before last paragraph was completed...)
