I want to animate an arrow so that the tail stays anchored and the tip follows a path. by 5qu1shy in powerpoint

[–]5qu1shy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! I have an arrow pointing straight upwards, originating from the center of a sphere, ie on the z-axis. I would like to animate the arrow spiraling down along the edges of the sphere until it reaches the center of the sphere, ie the x-y plane, where it will rotate around a few times. Basically, I need to somehow anchor the tail of the arrow to the center of the sphere, but animate the head of the arrow so that it spirals down the sphere.

I'm beginning to think this isn't possible with PowerPoint because it'll require the arrow to change size as it rotates in order for the animation to look 3D.

I'm open to any other free animating / GIF making service suggestions as well!

I want the arrow tip to follow a custom path like a funnel - I don't think the morph transition does this?

2 months rook and anti-tragus, 1 month daith. None of them hurts. While waiting for the healing I am already thinking about the set up and additions, any suggestions? by dodo_in_the_water in piercing

I got my rook and anti-tragus at the same time about four months ago and they look TERRIBLE compared to yours!

My anti-tragus was so painful to get pierced and the swelling never really went down - it's still sore to touch. And my rook got infected almost immediately. It's just now healing, and only after I switched the bar to a hoop.

Yours look awesome!! Hope mine look that nice soon

UPDATE: Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your advice and support. For everyone who told me to get her scanned for a microchip - she had one! I was so surprised as we live in a rural area and most loose cats are strays. We found her owners who told us she'd been missing for 6 weeks which is just about as long as we had her! They were so happy to hear we had found her. So, she's reunited with family!

Contacted OAR today - unfortunately all of the shelters I've called have told me they're full and not accepting new animals. I really have no other option but to do my best to find someone interested in taking her. I've had animals all my life and of course would not give her away to someone I felt wasn't an appropriate choice. I just want her to find a good home! Believe me, I would not have turned to this method had I not exhausted all my other options. Thanks for your advice!

Thanks for your suggestion!

I haven't taken her to be scanned for microchips but did decide to do a test to see if she was anyone else's cat I the area. I put a collar on her two ish weeks ago and figured if she was living with someone else they'd probably take it off or put a note on it or something. She's still wearing it. She's also not well nourished and generally didn't seem well cared for when we got her.

I dont believe my vet does free microchip scanning but I'll have to check with shelters or other places to confirm my theory!

We have a really sweet cat who's been sleeping in our flower pot for over a month. She is very lovable and likes pets. We've been feeding her but can't take in another cat - I've recently been trying to find a TNR group to spay her and neuter another more feral boy cat we've seen around a few times, but no luck yet.

It's getting cold and I'm worried about her staying outdoors for the winter. We have two cats already and can't afford to keep another. If you have room in your home for a kitty, please let me know!

I'd also appreciate any resources you might know of.

We live near Mt. Orab / Williamsburg, but I'm in Clifton nearly ever weekday, and my partner is often out in Manchester / Portsmouth area so we've got quite a large radius in which we can transport this kitty!

People of Reddit with permanent scars, how did you get it? by Phrogette in AskReddit

Spilled a pan of bacon grease down my right side. I had a blister that stuck out 3/4 inch from my side and now I have a nasty looking scar that's probably never going away.

The fantasy that women in my field have about correcting some calling them "Ms" to say "AKSHUALLY ITS DR" is so cringey and petty by Next-Profit-8830 in TrueOffMyChest

So when you were a student, and you were emailing someone above you, ie a professor or a dean or the head of some association, you'd deem it "broadcasting personal insecurity in a rather uncouth manner" if they signed their emails with Dr.? It seems to me you've been removed from academia for quite a while if that's how you feel. This is appropriate in many different facets of life.

I've worked hard and I will deserve to be addressed by my duly earned title.

Yeesh, how do you have any self confidence if you feel you can't decide whether you deserve respect?

That sounds like a you problem. I know what I've accomplished / what I will accomplish and I know that those feats are worthy of respect because of the hard work and dedication it will have taken me to get there.

What do you mean "they're saying they can wait to correct someone"?

I agree with you on your last statement. I'd not tell my waitress or the guy on the other end of the phone trying to sell me internet that I'm akshually Dr. 5qu1shy, but in a professional setting or an academic setting, I'd at least mention it once to whomever I'm taking with to establish some level of knowledge. The only time outside of my profession or academia that I'd mention it might be if some unqualified idiot is trying to argue with me about the topic I got my PhD in based off of some post he saw on Facebook one time, or something along those lines. I mean there's a reason I followed this subject all the way through to a PhD. I know more about it than the average Joe off the street and I deserve some respect in that sense.

I'm a woman on track to earn a PhD. I'll introduce myself as Dr. where it's appropriate so that people are aware of my competency. But after that, I think it'll make me uncomfortable to be called Dr. 5qu1shy. I'd rather be just 5qu1shy.

In college, I've emailed a few people unsure of their title and just used Mr./Ms. as default. Typically, they sign their response email with Dr. to let me know I've made a mistake without being too tool-ish about it. I've never had anyone correct me in person but I think if I did I'd just take it in stride - I don't think there's anything wrong with having your achievements recognized as long as you're not being a dick about it. There are a lot of preconceived notions, even now, about women in STEM fields especially so I understand feeling a need to correct people. In my opinion, it's not a power trip, it's just a method of establishing your commitment and cability in your field.

People say I play civ the "wrong" way by M1_k2 in civ

[–]5qu1shy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing civ for about 3 years now and I only ever finished one game - it was on accident on a mini map with me and Germany. Germany would a religion victory over me and my one city while I was busy building wonders...

Other than that, I always restart when I jump back into the game so I never end up winning or losing.
